As far as I can find out, North Korea bars private ownership too, unless you are very much in favor with the Party, i.e. Kim Jong Un's shooting buddy.

The USSR had the same sorts of rules, a few hunting rifles and shotguns for the peasants who lived way out in the hinterlands and had to deal with wolves or trap for fur, but having a pistol or other quasi-military gun got you sent to the gulag.

So why do Communists fear guns in private hands so much? Are they afraid a capitalist army is going to magically form from the people and displace them from power?

Avoiding shootings like in America would be a good reason.

I could see the Uber driver getting charged for that. But the other guy was obviously drunken, violent white trash, so - is it worth it?

If that was OJ coming for Nicole in the car and shot by the Uber driver I think the Uber driver would be in jail right now.

We have 4.6% of the world's population and have 2.88% of the world's mass shootings. The person who released a study in 2015 which stated the US had the most mass shootings refuses to release his data and will not respond.

I just noticed Mexico supposedly has less mass shootings than the US per capita - ?

What a joke. They don't find all of their bodies. Seriously believe that we are even lower in the numbers than what is reported because most countries under report these types of crimes.

However, in terms of countries I care about, we are the leader in mass murders, because I only care about the US. And I will repeat what I have said in the past, any of your countries out there - if you were in our geographic location, with the same population mixtures we have, would have similar crime rates to what we have. We have failed miserably in curing crime, drugs, poverty, gang warfare and also mental health. I don't think your laws would make much of a difference.

This is where the left's "give us all your guns, we will protect you" narrative falls flat on its face.

In the old days, this guy would have been drummed out of town, possibly tarred and feathered, if an outraged parent didn't shoot him first.

Today they hold tearful rallies and chant "never again". While Officer Chicken retires with a nice pension.

America is turning into a nation of wusses.
