Watching A's & Angels again tonight and took a quick look at some other clubs. There are going to be some truly ugly ERAs put up this year. Some of the big hitting guns have yet to get rolling this year.

I did not pick up Ohtani in any of my fantasy leagues because he didn't look that good in the spring. I should have known he was sandbagging, like Ichiro did when he came here. He is really going to be fun to watch.

Default Early Returns from Oakland

Bumgarner, Cueto, Melancon, and Samardzjia all on the DL and 15th in the National League in runs scored. The Giaants are really lucky to be 5-5. We won't talk about the A's.

It's early yet, but it is not looking good for victory parades in the Bay Area this year.

The New York Mets just won their 9th straight, 6-5 over the Brewers.

https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/f...in-9th-in-row/

For several years we Mets fans have been waiting for all their starting pitchers (deGrom, Syndergaard, Harvey, Matz, and Wheeler) to be healthy, so that we could see what they could do. It's too early to tell, but if the first 11 games are any indication, then we're in for an exciting season.

Enjoy it navvet, those pitchers will be back on the DL by the All-Star break.

As a baseball fan, it is really good to see Harvey and Wheeler bounce back from their injuries. I am really hoping that Syndergaard gets really rolling again. He is like Kershaw in that it is usually a bummer when he pitches against your team, but if you truly love baseball, there is joy in watching their pitching.

We are also blessed with a new generation of Hall of Fame hitters. I was blessed to grow up Willie Mays, seeing those great A's teams in the 1970s, Rickey Henderson, Barry Bonds, Dave Stewart, Bumgarner and those ridiculous World Series wins. Now, it is other teams' fans turn to be excited.

Default Well, they finally have done it...

MLB Admits Balls Are Different

Quote:
“is not due to either a livelier, ‘juiced’ ball, or any change in batter or pitcher behavior,” the report concluded. “It seems, instead, to have arisen from a decrease in the ball’s drag properties, which cause it to carry further than previously, given the same set of initial conditions — exit velocity, launch and spray angle, and spin. So there is indirect evidence that the ball has changed, but we don’t yet know how.”

I hope that more investigation is going to happen, so they can find out 'how' the ball has changed, if not in the inner composition of the ball.

Gee, I am kind of hoping that they can get certain umpires to maintain a consistent strike zone. Then again, I am remembering how few walks were issued in night games at Candlestick Park. Damn, it got cold out there.

Virtually every player swings like they are trying to hit the ball 500 feet, like getting singles and doubles is just not manly enough. As to the umpires and the strike zone, I got ejected from enough games that I should probably leave that one alone, but I am looking forward to the electronic strike zone taking over for them.

Does Bryce Harper need lasix or something? I can't believe he's hitting .237.
