Question for guys that have daughters

If my girls arent in my eye line i worry about them and even if they are i still worry about their future and what it will turn out like . Thats mostly what being a parent is about. Worrying. Worry most of all about a lot of boys their same age and their attitudes. Attitudes we blokes only know to well.You try and warn them and advise but as you do it you know its barely being listened to and never going to be absorbed. Have to keep telling yourself they will only learn from making their own mistakes. Wish that wasnt true but its the same the world over. Best a parent can hope for is they come through the other side wiser and as healthy as when they went in

You know it can go the other way (and often does)....the girls can eye the boys off of course. Thankfully I'm not in a position to deal with that or else I reckon I'd have stomach ulcers by now.

I have a drop dead gorgeous 15 year old ( apart from my height, thankfully she has mostly her mothers genetic material) I have already told her, any man that approaces her with less than honourable intentions, will find himself in a shallow grave.I am a probably a tad over over-protective.

When my daughters were growing up I was like most of you guys and was worried sick about the day when some greasy biker or so would try to deflower my girls,but now as they are in their 20's,(and still single and living at home) to be honest I am dissapointed when they don't have a boyfriend (and I suppose a sex life) So what I'm saying is don't worry guys if you've done your job as a parent, it will all be fine

I remember visiting my girlfriend in college for one summer. She lived with her mom. She and her mother both thought it was adorably quaint when I said I would not sleep with Kelly if it made her mother uncomfortable. Her dad was not in the picture. We had a lot of hot sticky sex on those hot sticky July nights. I can't imagine her mom didn't hear us down the hall, and to the mom's credit, she never complained! I guess even in the eighties young men were no longer considering the feelings of the parents. Of course, when MY parents were in college, the only way you could have female guests in your dorm room was to keep the door open and to have everybody's feet on the floor at all times!

I live in a college town and every year there are endless hand-wringing sessions about on-campus sexual assaults. Yet, I always see college girls dressed like 8th Avenue hookers drinking liquor with troglodyte jocks. Some, but not all, college-aged women aren't ready to handle sexual relationships or the consequences thereof.

That's the time to do that stuff not at 40. What fashion, sex and behaviour mistakes did we make in our teens and early twenties, if you don't believe me look at photos of yourself then and remember what your father used to say to you, clothes, haircut, school etc.
People make mistakes when they're young, that's how they learn. You can only hope they survive sufficiently undamaged to absorb the lessons.
Did any of us really learn from your parents mistakes?

Back to the thread theme it is natural to feel protective towards youngsters and females in your circle, however every parent has to gradually let go. That really is the hardest part to not pound the face in of the snotty little kid who is mentally undressing your daughter is tough.

Why all the 19th Century concerns? I have a daughter who is 31 and single. Her sex life has had ups and downs, but frankly, she has exercised better judgment in choosing partners than I did most of the time.
