Default Video Games

I'm actually a "young" person who enjoys erotica. Now now, because you guys starts hooping and hollaring about my age, I assure you all, that I am indeed over 18. But besides that, the younger, video gamer, generation is growing up and watching erotica.

My question is, who out there actually plays video games, and what kind of games do you play? Since this is the "General Discussion" section, these games need not be sexy in nature. I'm also a first amendment crusader and I think that "violent" video games get as much bad press as "Overtly sexual" movies. Which is a shame, the politicians turn their head when you blows someone's head off, but you can't even say "blow job" without the FCC breathing down your neck.

Hi there....theres many of us in our 40's and beyond that are gamers.....I've been playing since the early 80's, so really we are all of the 'video gamer' generation and I can see myself continuing for as long as I live

Games that I like playing are MMO's, RPG's, Strategy games and the occaisional Footy Management Sim

I think the whole 'sex in video games' thing almost always gets blown (pardon the pun) out of all proportion by the media....I remember a game that came out in the 80's called 'Barbarian' which featured the well known Maria Whittaker on the cover wearing very scanty items of clothing....much was made about that but also so too was the feature in the game which was the ability to chop your opponents head of with a large sword....it caused much rumpus in the press back in those days and there will be many forummers here who may well remember it.

The same happened with the very first instalment of the now famous Grand Theft Auto series. The first incarnation featured heavily on the national news in the UK because of its content and successive instalments were treated the same, all the way through to San Andreas and it's hidden sex games which ended with much publicity for Rock Star but also caused them much grief from Governments and the media who were so outraged, although I noticed the media missed out on the fact that you could find a large dildo in the police station in the game and use that as a weapon

And so it continues to this day......there will always be media interest in games featuring sex and/or violence....for some games developers and publishers its a great way to up the ante and get as much publicity as possible.

Regards

Callum

Personally i think this is a great thread idea so will do my best to do it as much justice as did Callum and RagingBuddhist

I started with a battered old C64 and fell in loving frustration with Gauntlet (Mainly as the bloody game never bloody ended) .Then i moved onto the mega drive and it was RoboCop versus Terminator / Syndicate / Zombies and The Chaos Engine that won my heart . Once the Playstation dropped to 50 pound i nabbed one , so Resident Evil and Silent Hill entered my life. Now of course i`m older and can`t spend the amount of time i used to blowing zombies apart or straining my ears in the dark to hear a drooling undead nurse dragging herself towards me.But i still go on the PS2 when time permits and have a go at being stupidly brave in Dues EX, or controlling fanatical armies as in Kessen 3 or decapitating nut jobs in Manhunt or running over cops in Getaway or or or. Hmmm guess as i`ve "matured" i find myself enjoying ever more violent games .Wonder if it`s linked to the powerlessness felt during life in this century ?.

Naaah , it`s because i like the splat sounds they make when i reverse over them

I think many of the original video game generation are now middle aged, some may even be about to be pensioners.

I remember the first games, the old pong game, think tennis with bats of a long oblong stick on the television-its so old now but I bet you kids would love it especially the football one. We had BINATONE's version which plugged into the back of the b/w television. Later I remember seeing the very first ZX 81 being demonstrated on HOW!(a children's science and general knowledge programme in the late 70's) and Professor Jon Miller showed how to program it. It cost £75 back then and I wanted one. However it was the boom of the 80's when the BBC Micro A came out along with programmes called "Making the Most of the Micro" and "The Computer Programme" the latter presented by Ian McNaughton-Davis.

I was hooked and I even started to write programmes(very small ones) even though I didn't have a computer yet. Fast forward to 1983/4 and another computer show called "Micro Live" again based on the BBC Micro B computer and presented by Fred Harris and Lesley Judd(former Blue Peter presenter). Next came Sinclair Spectrum, the first colour computer under £100 a breakthrough for Sir Clive Sinclair, but started a war of words and computers with Sir Clive and the head of BBC computing(name escapes me) they even had a bit of a punch-up outside a pub!

Games were cheap between £3-£15 and were really popular with kids like me, although I wasn't about to spend £15 every time. Other computers that were around the 80's were Oric Atmos, Commodore Vic-20 and 64, Dragon 32 and Acorn-a cheaper version of a BBC machine. All fell by the wayside leaving the main market leaders BBC Micros v Sinclair Spectrums. Sir Clive then signed a deal with Sir Alan Sugar who had created the office micro system AMSTRAD(Alan Michael Sugar Trading) and teamed up to create a Spectrum with a built-in tape machine for faster game loading. Sinclair then turned his attention to Sinclair QL but it failed to sell that many machines.

Atari who had been around since the cassette-loading station brought out in the late 70's with its blocky graphics and fast play produce the Amiga which was the first machine to show better graphics and have better sound. Now its all about the Japanese Playstation, Nintendo DS and Wii and all manner of amazing graphical games. We have come a long way since the old pong games

Favourite game on Spectrum-SPY HUNTER and Scrabble.

I started with Arcade games and C64 in the 80s, Donkey Kong, River Raid and Defender were my favourite ones.
I never played Ego-Shooters or Car Racing because I get sick when I see the 3D Graphic on the screen. So I like on the PC some pinball games and I like playing "Skat" online.

I just finished 100% completion in the latest Grand Theft Auto: GTA:IV.
Have 100% completion in all the GTA games multiple times over.
Manhunt, 3 times each on both hardcore and fetish levels.
I know all about the media and people suing gaming companies.
Will just leave it at that.....

Started with pinball and then arcade games as a kid.
Pong, followed by Omega Race, Space Fury, Missile Command, Asteroids, etc.
I like science fiction, and FPS games. First Person Shooters are my forte.

Had an Atari 5200 and wore out a Moon Patrol cartridge,
then later an NES, then an N64, and was by then playing on PC.
Doom and Duke Nukem 3D were the kings.
Then Half-Life took the world by storm in 1998.
At that time my main games on PC were:
1) Delta Force
2) Shadows of the Empire
3) Half-Life
4) Real

Got a PlayStation1 and found Twisted Metal 3.
Then moved Doom and Duke over from PC to the PS1.
[Still, have Doom and Duke Nukem on PC memorized, every level...the Golden Age of Gaming]

Started using the PS all the time and still have 2 PS2's.
Went through a thousand games on PS2.
GTA series, Manhunt, Silent Hill series, Black,
Area 51, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Killzone, Gun,
and the Medal of Honor and Call of Duty series, were favorites.
I'm a member of a number of gaming groups, years of in-depth
discussions on exploration, and alternative methods of doing
missions in GTA games with a lot of different aged players.
From 15 to 55, once you start, it becomes a hobby.

When the next gen consoles hit, I opted for the XBox 360 Elite.
At least it has a proper disk drawer instead of a slot in a molded platic cover. [PS3]
Besides, I missed the timing to buy the 60Gb PS3, which
was necessary for me to have backwards compatibility with my PS2 titles.
Before I bought my Elite, I picked up a regular XBox dirt cheap
to learn the controller and went through:
Doom 3, Half-Life 2, Halo 1 and 2, Call of Duty 1-3 again.

Now on the Elite, I have GTA:IV, Call of Duty 4, and the Orange Box (HL)

Dude, we're old, we're not dead.

Decided to throw another post on the fire to keep this thread at least tepid. Brand loyalty does it mean anything ?, i only ask because i`ve stuck with the PS for three generations now and i`m wondering if other members are as branded ?.

Bit daft i suppose as i only got a PS2 as it could also play PS1 games , but did i ever play one again ? , nope. So now i nabbed me a PS3 and got the girl assistant manageress to also throw in Endwar/head piece and Drake's Fortune in the deal along with the already included Metal Gear 4 , you know this countries disintegration really has it`s plus points , just make sure you haggle people .

Anyway so the thing is i got the PS3 , only i have no clue as to why as it`s not like it even plays PS2 games , still it looks pretty .

What the hell am i going on about again ?

Who knows , but then it`s nearly half three Sunday morning so waddya want from me ?.

Oh yeah i remember

Is anybody as stupidly loyal to their console manufacturers ? , and why don`t more people haggle ?

Welcome to the group. Mine was the first generation to have video games. PONG, anyone? Personally, I just grew tired of v-games halfway during the first Nintendo craze. God! I still hate that dog in Duck Hunt when it laughs at me.

I has a Sinclair Spectrum back in the day, one where you had to load the cassette and then wait for the rest of the morning for it to load.
It has a football sim game that let you pick the teams home and away kit and placed them in the left hand corner. It was the best thing about the game and for teams you really hated - Girly pink!

Now LMA series and Nascar take up my time.
Now Im single again I can indulge myself any time I want without being told to Grow up/ your to old for that/ dont you have something better to do
She wasnt complaining when i was drooling like a fifiteen year old over her
