In "It's a Wonderful Life", when George reads the inscription Clarence wrote in his copy of "Huckleberry Finn": "No man is a failure as long as he has friends"
And at the end of "Scrooge" (Alastair Sim as Ebeneezer Scrooge), when the narrator reads Dickens' conclusion to the story.

And of course "It's a Wonderful Life". This movie rose from the dead in the late 70s, and was suddenly all over the place at this time of year.
I love it, but I don't want to see it again this year. Nothing worse than a great movie (or song, for that matter) soured by overexposure. |

Almost all sports movies make me cry. It's either they give their all and fail in the end, or the give their all and they are victorious. Either way I get tears in my eyes.
Maybe I'm just a sissy. |

Two that come to mind are The Champ (I think that's what it was called, with Ricky Schroeder and Jon Voight - about a boxer) and E.T.
From what I can recall both of these movies had the entire cinema in tears at the time. **Speaking of sports movies I think there was one called Ice Castles I saw on tv about a figure skater. |

Films that make me cry?...hmmm The ticket price for two, hotdogs, popcorn, packets of sweets and big buckets of coke..no change out of £30, that makes me cry!

For me it's often the ABC Nightline documentary of Eva Cassidy.
Well, on more than one occasion. There have been a few films, on the odd, rare occasion. Personally I think it is one of the saddest, most uncomfortable things when a grown man cries. So "suck it up guys" ...aaww, time for a group hug |

I remember watching something on the band Happy Mondays, Bez and Shaun Ryder had admitted to filling up at the end of Ghost (Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze) and thought, yes, I did too! That film always gets me.
The first time I cried as a kid watching a movie was at the end of Son of Kong, when Kong died saving the hero by holding him above the waves engulfing them - also when I found out James Beck, who played Private Joe Walker (the spiv) in Dads Army, had died - I was only 7! Depends why, if you're crying for someone else, for loss, for your inability to put wrong things right,I don't think it's uncomfortable to see at all. If its for yourself, self pity, then yes I'd agree that there is little worse.
