Conduct on the Forums - Page 2

I have seen the ugly side and I don't wish to see it again. It was nothing to do with politics or religion but with race. I guess it starts off innocently enough but after a bit of light heartedness things do tend to escalate and invariably get way out of hand. I know the mods have done wonderous jobs to ensure that these type of threads are swiftly nipped in the bud.

Another good reason is how are brains are wired. When the debate begins to escalate emotion sets in and the higher brain functions begin to decrease. There goes reason and logic.

I only contribute to one other forum with any regularity, and I have to say that both the general level of tolerance, politeness and overall quality of the input is far higher here than that other place. Mind you there are some pretty good rucks there now and again.

The worse place for racism/bigoted views & religious arguments is without doubt Youtube (just read some of the comments haha)

I must admit to this, it is quite shocking though
I used to mod on a few forums and on a certain forum a certain member was taking my vids and reposting them using cash hosts on forums, i asked him not to do it and also issued an infraction, the said member sent me loads of abuse by PM and after receiving bout 10 PM`s threatening to kill me i simply banned him, he was using a dynamic IP so he signed up with a new username & email / IP.
He came straight back to abuse me via PM and i knew it was the same person, unfortunately for him his original log-in was using his ISP e-mail, so i then tracked him down on Facebook by his e-mail, his profile was open so i had everything i needed (name,address,hometown etc)
So i sent him a reply addressed to his proper name saying i know where you live (quoted his address) and asked how is girlfriend was (again by name)
i then told him i was coming round to cave his skull in lol
The reply i got was absolutely priceless,
he actually begged me not to come round, and was so apologetic it was a joke. (i had no intention of going round anyway)
But it worked hahaha

Nasty i know, but just goes to show it is a big mistake to talk shit on the Internet as you never know who you are dealing with

The interesting thing for me, is that I find I treat people with much more respect here at VEF than I do out in the real world. If I'm out on the street & someone starts yelling at me etc, now they have to deal with me. In here, I'm able to dismiss a lot of comments. I was here posting porn for well over a year before I ever posted in the discussion threads. It was you guys & the tone of the discussion that made me want to contribute.

If I'm guilty of one thing, it's "busting people's balls." It's always a light hearted way of trying to get someone to explain their position in greater detail. My best friends & family members "bust my balls" every chance they get & I do the same. I guess it's just a regional/local thing. I do realize that it can come across as flaming, so I've learned to use the smilies so there's no confusion as to where my comments are coming from mentally/emotionally. If there is any confusion, I try to clear it up with posters/mods as quickly as possible.

This is a porn forum first & foremost. It's too easy to lose sight of that sometimes. We should all be in a good mood the second we sign in here. There are places like political blogs etc where posters can troll for comments & react aggressively. I just don't understand posters who feel the need to shout people down...in a porn forum

Let's take a moment to consider the demographics of this site. There's people here from all over the world including many who speak very little or no English. Americans and British barely speak the same language let alone those from other countries. Taking the language barriers into account and the fact we're all from tremendously diverse backgrounds I think this is one of the friendliest and most cooperative environments on Earth. If it weren't I would simply download whatever was of interest to me and contribute nothing. Here's to all the members of our extended VEF family. Cheers.
