My favorite American bird. The Robin. See how it stands with its red breast thrust forward. It's behavior is very queer. It takes a bunch of steps then looks around then dips its head to the ground to eat something, maybe an insect or a seed. I have seen robins pull earthworms right out of the ground and swallow them whole.

The American robin is actually a thrush, unrelated to the European robin.
