I've read it argued that the pervasive influence of Freemasonry in the senior ranks of the pre WW1 Royal Navy led to tactical rigidity and difficulties of command and control at the Battle of Jutland in 1916.

Been a Freemason (Don`t believe the hype they charge for the monthly newsletter) kinda nearly almost three years now

JFK was the first President of the USA not to be a Mason. M big a thing in the USA maybe one of our members from the USA can tell us whether the Masons are as big a thing there as they are here? And of course there are Masonic symbols on banknotes in the USA.

Some people believe the Jack the Ripper murders in 1888 had Masonic connections.Whatever the truth,the Detective leading the investigation,Insp.Frederick Abberline was the only Scotland Yard Inspector who wasn't a Mason...

Freemasonry was one of the many forces that helped built the new United States. But in 1826, an anti-Mason named William Morgan (who had been denied membership in a lodge in Batavia, NY) disappeared after writing a book that exposed secrets of Freemasonry. The circumstances of Morgan's disappearace and lack of punishment for his kidnappers led to the birth of the anti-Masonic movement of the pre-Civil War years.
