Just pointing out the rather odd reality of a song that is so often considered an Irish icon was a: written by a Brit, (and did not do well), a b: was rewritten by a relative whence upon its success began.
Maybe I am over thinking these things but it sort of lost a meaning to me when I found out it wasn't really the core Irish song that I had always thought it was. |
