The funny part being all these movies have been reuploaded to a cash host by the same poster. But the blockage of the file would have been done on the 1fichier server, not in VEF, or the post would say 'edited by qws...'. Like I said, I also can't download them with my premium account, and they're all from the same movie series, 9 ½ Days 1 to 5, so it could also be a copyright issue.

1fichier is not a cash host. A cash host would permit paying customers to download. Otherwise there would not be any cash for the uploader.
Like Shadezzz I have a premium account with 1fichier and I get the same message.

I guess I should have worded it more like movies originally posted by qws have been reposted to cash hosts. I post to 1fichier, love them, well aware they are not cash hosts !

It's not a copyright issue, the links would have been removed if it was.

You can shut off access to individual files and that is what this looks like.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to contact him since early April so I have no way of asking him to fix it.

Yep that was my initial thought too, the files are there but not available for download and he must have done that himself, for whatever reason.

I'm downloading these from the reposter and am reuploading them to 1fichier. It looks to me like the ones on the cash hosts are the same as qws' files, renamed from wmv to mp4.

Knowing qws, seeing his files on cash hosts would enrage him. Might be the reason they are unavailable. So a good thing they are re-upped here instead so the good members of VEF don't have to swim through filthy, walking dead forums to get the files.

On a totally unrelated note: downloading from 1Fichier with Firefox worked for me for a short time, now I can't download again despite being logged in as a free user. I now use a download manager for this host.

Yes FF does seem to work on a random basis now and again.
Always worth a quick try before resorting to Opera browser.

It may be a due to ad or popup rotation on 1F, some of which FF doesn't block
so allowing a download.
