Folks, I tried your suggestions to no avail. reluctantly, I reset Firefox and I can now see the thumbs. I will gradually add the extensions and add-ons I had and report back if I see it happening again. Thanks for your help, and time!

I have searched as much as possible using terms such as "missing images", but with not much found - this thread being the closest.
Recently, I have been noticing very many threads where there are very many missing images. The rest of the post is present, just not the images. For example: http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/sho...aroline+barker this thread has 80 posts, but I can now only see images in 31 posts only. I used to be able to see all images in that thread. Now, post #28 seems to be the first to show images for me. Many, many other threads are effected in the same way. I am using Firefox as my browser, and Windows XP. Due to an unrelated recent problem, I have uninstalled and then reinstalled the latest version of Ff earlier this week(which fixed my problem elsewhere unrelated to VEF viewing), but it has not improved the number of images displayed. I am "computerphobic". Can someone explain my problem in language I can understand? Thanks. P.S. I am, at this stage, JUST ASSUMING that it is a Firefox problem. I could be completely incorrect about this and am hoping someone may have a solution to my problem. Last edited by nissan; March 17th, 2018 at 07:38 AM.. |

Check Different Browser Try a different browser first. But be careful with old Internet Explorers on XP. Better use Chrome or Opera. If that works then your Firefox is the problem. Ad- or Script-blockers If you have ad- or script blockers installed try to disable them one by one and reload the page each time. If the image appears after you disabled a blocker you have the culprit. It then depends on the blocker if you can add an exception to it. Check Page Info
Check Network Requests
These measures could provide indicators where the problem lies. Maybe you could list two or three posts that work and that don't. Or provide a screen shot of a broken post, if possible with open page info dialog or network requests. |

Just briefly:
I Installed Opera browser and used it to open VEF. Using Opera shows individual "thumbnail" generic type icons without actually showing any pictures, so at least I can see in each individual post how many actual images it contains, but as I said unfortunately without showing any actual images(using FF the numbers of individual images is not shown). When I left click on the "generic" thumbnail in each post it would appear that the image is blocked due to intervention by "Interpol" who has prevented images by "Imagevenue" and "Pimp and Host" from displaying. I am not sure how to deal with this. Does my above description give any clues? P.S. I am from Australia, where I understand some attempts have been made to restrict certain material. P.P.S. Thank you "halvar". You deserve more than just a hit of the "Thanks" button. I really appreciate the trouble you have gone to, even though I am a bit lost with some of your post, but that is my fault not yours. |

Must be an Australian thing. Sadly some countries block Internet access to specific sites. This might be the case here. Circumventing is usually possible but depends on the blocking method used. After a quick search it seems to be only DNS blocking. Means: The Domain Name Server you get from your provider does not give you the correct address for a domain (e.g. imagevenue.com). This can be circumvented by using a different DNS, like googles public Server 8.8.8.8. Google for "dns blocking bypass" and you will find detailed explanations what this is about and what to do. |

http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/sho...postcount=1757 seems to be providing a solution. Anonymouse. Free version: http://anonymouse.org/anonwww.html Use "http://vintage-erotica-forum.com" in the log in box. A brief try out shows all the images are now available in the Caroline Barker thread, but extra logging in is needed - especially if I need to do a search. It's not perfect, but it is a start. Thank you again for your help "halvar" for leading me along the useful path. Last edited by nissan; March 18th, 2018 at 05:52 AM.. |

I have been using XP forever up 'till now.....no problems.
It would appear that the solution(see above post) is not related to XP usage.....or Firefox. Last edited by nissan; March 18th, 2018 at 05:47 AM.. |

I've been having the same issue with Firefox. I thought it was the site at first but when people commented on images I couldn't see, I scanned this thread and went experimenting. For me, it was the Ghostery add on. I disabled that and now Firefox works 100% again. Worth a try if you're having this issue. Oddly, it wasn't all images, I did see some posts OK but many were blank.
