That's right.. you can now face fines and or jail for using the wrong pronoun in a nursing home.. this coming from the bastion of tolerance and inclusion. Truly landmark legislation.

Decadence, this legislation is IMO a colossal waste of time. The PC forces get into overdrive. California is very inclusive in gender and sexual orientation terms. Even in the conservative Central Valley, gay enclaves are found. We are generally tolerant on racial issues as well.

But you do make a good point that the PC crowd often stifles discussion of what might be a more balanced and rational solution to many items and has a habit of legislating to ridiculous lengths. They have gone so far over the top that some cities prohibit smokers from lighting up in their own apartments. And as noted in an earlier post, it is wise to check the gang turf in low income areas before choosing the color of your hat.

As for being a "bastion of tolerance and inclusion," the ill conceived efforts of alt-right groups to rub Californians noses in the recent victory for gerrymandering and voter suppression proved that some groups are more easily tolerated and included than others.

Frankly, folks from Indiana might consider looking in the mirror before questioning the tolerance and inclusivity of other states. Whereas California is strongly influenced by the uptight PC crowd, Indiana appears to be in the grip of religious bigots hell bent on forcing their values and lifestyle on others.

Mixed Scout units have worked in Britain for over 40 years and I can't remember any sluts or any great problems (apart from digging separate latrines).
