What I fiind inexplicable it how 99% of these things seem occure in the good old U S of A .

as for stone henge :-
The Sarsen Stones came from the Marlborough Downs, just twenty miles North of Stonehenge.
The Bluestones came from the Preseli Mountains in Wales 240 miles away.
about 60 or so were used and although they are not that difficult to move the number and distance would have proved a serious logistical problem which just goes to show that those guys were a damn site smarter than we give them credit for.

Hi, this is new to me. I seen this on the History channel a couple of days ago and it really caught me off guard. There is a hieroglyph in an Egyptian tomb and it has a helicopter, boat and airplane carved into the tablet.

This is a site with pictures and a possible explanation.

How good of you to notice TCO95...

Are these inscriptions real..?
There's hardly information to be found..
I mean it's very obvious, when looking at the closeup pic.

If the ancient Egyptians had vehicles such as helicopters, submarines, and jet airplanes, one would expect to find some evidence of this other than in a single inscription on the lintel of a single temple. This type of large machinery requires a vast amount of support (including fuel, parts, factories, etc.) but there is no trace of any such support in all of Egypt. The Egyptian literature is also bereft of any boast, much less passing mention, of advanced aircraft. Obviously this situation doesn't seem peculiar to those who really want to believe that the ancient Egyptians flew around in airplanes.

Submarines would have been very useful for the Egyptians in those pre Suez Canal days, helicopters are renowned for their limited use in desert warfare (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Eagle_Claw) and as for airplanes can you imagine the holiday brochures?
These belong in the same waste paper basket as the slices of toast with Jesus' or Evlis' faces on.

This is an interesting site with a wide variety of 'mysterious' artifacts and possible explanations. The site seems to take a neutral position on the possible origins of the artifacts.

Not sure about a neutral position. It just seems to print a load of sensationalized articles without comment or question.

I'm still laughing at the thought of a mercury-ion-engine being used to power an aircraft in 1895! That has got to be my new favourite "science" story!

I find it ridiculous that scientists have reduced life to a very common ocurrence by proving conditions to it's appearence are present in a great number of planets since there are so many solar systems that even if just 0,1% of them have planets with temperature, water, mass and atmosphere similar to Earth, than life is present in millions and millions of planets...

But many of those very same scientists remain skeptics of aliens visiting "our" planet... How can they?

I mean, life exists on Earth for 4500 millions of years... We appeared only at the end of those 4500 millions of years, so since the Universe is older and there must have been many planets older than our own, there sure must have been plenty inteligent species appearing before our own.

Surely what i'm saying is obvious enough once we take the facts provided by science itself, and altough there hasn't been a formal contact and presentation from aliens (that we know of) adressing the institutions we recognize as our representatives (national governments, United Nations, etc...) we can deduce since we are not the only ones, that alien crafts most certainly rather than not, have visited us.

I mean, come on, life, being so "vulgar" in the vastness of oportunities across the Universe, it's good sense not think of ourselves as the very first civilization to exist!

So, being that others existed before us, than they could have appeared millions of years before us, and had plenty of time to develop stellar travel tecnology. Just imagine that by the time dinosaurs still roamed our planet 100 millions of years ago, one or two alien civilizations were already burning fossil fuels and launching shuttles into space. From that time until now they most certainly pushed their tecnology as far as they needed to achieve inter stellar travel.

Can you imagine what "just" 1 million years ahead of us would mean in terms of tecnology? Shit.

Even without breaking the speed of light of learning how to use wormholes, just the sheer amount of time that preceded us, might gave a single alien civilization that appeared in other place of this galaxy enough time to develop advanced telescope and detection capabilities to scout every star in the galaxy outer spirals (were we are) and launch probes and expeditions.

Oh, i think it makes allot more sense to conclude their presence is being missed by us as a society than conclude they're not here at all.

Given the age of the Earth, its not exactly implausible, that a race of humans existed, & managed to wipe themselves out in prehistory.
It might explain, the existence of such places as Ankor Watt in Cambodia. Or the cities of the Aztecs.
