Download sites for movies

Greetings fellow humans.

Can any moderator or poster suggest a good file download site that is generally liked on VEF? I would like to upload some zipped movie files. Is Rapidgator a good one?

In no particular order, the most commonly used file hosts on VEF are...

1fichier
DepositFiles
Filefactory
Mediafire
Mega.nz

Basically, just choose whichever host you feel most comfortable with.

Keep in mind that each section has its own specific rules about posting videos. So a quick read of each section's posting guidelines is highly recommended. If something isn't clear or you have a question which isn't covered in the rules/guidelines, you can always reach out to a moderator. Despite what you may have heard, most of us are nice.

You really need to be more specific as there are differences between all hosts

Free or premium?

What file sizes?Volume of content you'd be posting?




In general terms free downloaders prefer non-reward/cash paying hosts
- rapidgator is tolerated - when their in a high demand period their loathed

RGs history shows its been near dead several times until bought and then banned
towards the bottom - not a host i'd be going near even if i was after a weekly wage

You could say the same about filefactory thats been around since 2005
Its been great,good, bad & downright ugly - just depends on what material on what day

Has a rather unique? premium feature which allows sharing at premium speeds for a specified amount of bandwidth - could be very useful if your only uploading a small amount of content

Those hosts that dont use captchas

You should wweigh that up against ease of uploading

- many with good download speeds sacrifice the upload side
- inactivity file retention rates

If premium (do they offer your type of preferred payment) ,

How long the host has been around - far too many hosts come and go like the wind

Testing them as a free registered user is always smart before you ever think of premium membership - if you experience issues never think upgrading to premium will fix them



As a free user i've chosen a combination of

depositfiles - up to 10gb(really 5gb considering thats the maximum free users can download daily)
- mostly because of their 90 days before deleting for inactivity which suits my obscure postings - they have longevity on their side 2006- - that you can start a download of your own material and then cancel it - that keeps it alive for another 90 days is a big plus imho....

Most other hosts seem be around 30 days of no activity for free registered user accounts
before they delete

Mediafire - for files under 200mb - you only need sign in once every 3 months to keep files alive - only downside is their history says 1 dmca notice can get you a closed account or all content deleted - though this hasnt reared its ugly head in recent times - they appear to only be offering 10 Gb of free space at the moment

Thanks for the info guys. From what buttsie has said, I will use depositfiles as first option with the others as well. I also remember I used it in the past. I'll be using a free account, thats all thats needed.

OOPs - bad memory

Got it a bit wrong with depositfiles - there are bandwidth restrictions

Downloading files as Free User uninterruptedly and with speed restrictions you will have about 5 GB downloaded per day.

All GOLD Users(premium) can download with maximum available speed. After reaching the 20 GB per day, the technical speed limit may be applied.

Just be aware that if your going to offer more than 1 option

lets say 1fichier & depositfiles

Most will use 1fichier because theres no captcha and just a small countdown clock usually 15-30 seconds...no waiting times between files in my experience

Only those with premium access will opt for depositfiles because as a free user theres a captcha , a countdown clock which varies depending on traffic and then theres waiting times in between downloads

Just downloaded a 21mb file of my own ...19 minutes till the next file
