Depositfiles free upgrade keys - EXPIRED
As you can see by the free upgrade rewards pic below they've gone on a deactivation run and apparently nobbled any upgrade keys older than 4 weeks from what I've read on several other forums.
Never a good sign when a host pulls earned rewards from its users with no mention in their news section. One can only guess as to their reasoning but safe to assume their feeling the pinch bandwidth usage wise or something worse. If your considering using it tread carefully |

Deposit files and bitshare are shite. Just like oron was. I know it is difficult to find a stable host. But some hosts should be tossed over board.

Given the 3 most free user friendly hosts that offered premium access for free are pretty much gone
Megaupload - dead Rapidshare - unlimited sharing in the cloud or limited sharing in public Mediafire - limited size of account & public sharing The cupboard is pretty bare Just to prove how regional filehosts are I get the bulk of my TV programs on bitshare - regularly downloading at 250kb - 300KB Aside from 2 other free hosts that dont offer a premium membership that speed is a rarity in my experience as a free user. One should never overlook how much material is being held on a host when comparing it to another...depositfiles has always been in the top 10 of filehosts size wise Unfortunately its most likely the number 1 for material hosted on sharing forums given the culling most other hosts are under taking and continues to grow as other hosts like file factory withdraw their cash reward schemes. Its remarkable any of their material is available given how many forums are being flooded with their links 100kb-150KB beats their competitors like Uploaded 50-70KB Getting access at any speed shouldnt be under estimated Smaller files, smaller accounts, more uploaders on different hosts might be the only way to share in the future Quite clearly large files, large accounts on a premium host of choice is a recipe for deletion or nobbling in the long term. The alternative hosts mention all too frequently 1 DMCA notice = closed account A real paradigm shift. Last edited by buttsie; November 29th, 2012 at 10:27 PM.. Reason: adding comment |

Luckyshare = just another dubious cash host thats risen this year imho
Seemed to gain admittance to a few prominent forums when rapidgator was banned so who ever runs it was trying to buy their way in at a guess. Its being hounded out of existence with the guys in the link below making sure their access to a credit card processor is difficult.Which has resulted in them making all manner of excuses why they cant pay their affiliates.Once they leave their dead. The last chance processor for the desperate hosts who Paypal have cut off Avangate just released a whole list of hosts they will no longer service 4.11.2012 of which luckyshare was one. http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/sho...3&postcount=62 Wjunction has a 22 page thread on them - the fact their representative is banned from there proves their on the nose with their affiliates. A thread on our sister site planet suzy says their a toss of the coin for performance which extends even to premium members. |

Mega
Ok this new Mega site from Kim Dotcom is coming out soon. One one hand the US government is gunning for the guy, on the other hand hes taking precautions so he dosent fuck it up this time the way he did last time. Hosting and servers outside of the united states, etc.
Dotcom is a renegade, most file hosters would fold up and say thats it, over and done. Not him, hes basically holding up a big middle finger to the government and recording industry....haha Im starting up another one. So the question is, will the government take down the new site? Will they be legally able to? And even if they do....how many years will the site be up for? 5 years? Maybe more? Something to think about while chosing a new locker, perhaps 5 years of storage, not too bad. Sound off, lets hear it |

I wish him well but something tells me the weakest link will be him getting
either paypal or any reputable credit processor to make his site viable. While hes painting himself up as the saviour take a look at the differences between piratebay.org and their own filehost bayfiles Its like night and day |

their survival, when the average length of stay for a new file host seems to be less than a year lol, but I think the more prevalent question would be is Dot Com working with the FBI now as some sort of informant. It's one thing to risk losing files that one has uploaded, but totally another to risk one's freedom. That may sound a tad extreme lol, but we're talking about a guy that was holed up in a safe room with a gun crying like a big fat baby before they had to break the door down. Just my opinion, but don't believe that I'd trust his fat ass any further than I could throw it lol. |

Depositfiles
I've posted a note on the depositfiles thread that it appears they have introduced the same restriction as rapidhare (for non-premium users). I would be interested to know if anyone else come across this (or whether I should be in the 'Is it just me....' thread ).
Regards 40+
