Sanders Leads Democratic Bill Proposing Minimum Wage Hike to $15 an Hour

In a move seen as a sign of the Democrats' continued shift leftward since the defeat of Hillary Clinton in the presidential election, nearly half the party's senators are backing revamped legislation introduced by Bernie Sanders and Patty Murray on Wednesday to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour and index it to inflation, The Washington Post reported on Wednesday.

I don't subscribe to this idea myself, based only on the fact that I think it would be incredibly difficult for strangers to the area to have disposed of the body and it still be undicovered after 10 years, with half of Portugal looking for it.

To me, it makes more sense for her either to have been snatched and taken away or for a local to have killed her and disposed of the body somewhere they knew she would never be found. Could the McCann's have done that in the time available to them?

There was a similarly related story last week about another overpriced item that could also be obtained far more cheaply.

The very fact that the item is on sale goes to prove there is one born every minute. Sheer hedonism, label addiction, more money than sense and being a sheep. One example being the propensity to cut holes in the knees of jeans.

One saw it on a few of the female fraternity a year ago only to witness it explode in numbers and on different types of leg garments and also to some males.

My view has been the same since day one. I am desperately sad for the little one, but I truly believe she was the victim of accidental overdose.

From someone who had a serious sleeping pill habit many years ago I can say it's pretty hard to overdose on modern sleeping pills like the z-drugs or even benzodiazepines.

My Doctor assured me you would have to take 'buckets of them' to kill yourself. I know of people who took up to 20 a day. Most people who overdose do so from taking large doses of opioids used as painkillers.

I think they had been there before. That said, I have a photo of my Grandson, cuddling into his Grandad aged two, completely relaxed and showing his security and safety in his expression, to me it is my all time favourite picture, every child should have that sense of security from their direct family, to accuse a parent of the ultimate betrayal, is for me hard to do, I have thought often over the ten years that have passed, as you know I work with many disciplines, which has included the Police, I have not spoken to any officer directly involved in this case, but those I have, have all said that the parents would have been prime suspects in a British Investigation, and far more emphasis would have been put on their absence from the apartment during the relevant hours.

I do not believe, without an unexpected confession, that the truth will ever be known, but having had the absolute privilege of having children, and grand children, I hope she is either happy and safe, or at peace.

We are not born to outlive our children, either way, life can not be that easy for the parents.

Did anyone notice the amount of firepower on show in South Korea with the combined forces of the US and South Korea loosening off shells, rockets, missiles etc in live round barrage - I was wondering I hope they have measured it all out as one loose missile or rogue rocket ends up in North Korea and hello World War 3! Still it was meant to show that the US and South Koreans mean business to try and persuade Kim Jong-un to desist. I don't know about him but it would put the fear of god into me that's for sure!

All things are possible in the absence of contrary evidence, but I myself am not inclined to think that the parents were the culprits in the Madeline McCann disappearance. As has already been said, Madeline has been missing without a trace for ten years now and to pull that off takes a bit more than a few hours from a standing start without planning or premeditation. I could be quite wrong and I keep an open mind; but I am not inclined to think the parents guilty of the deed, unless some new facts become known.

I suspect that Madeline has been buried at sea. If buried anywhere on land, even in a well, she would be likely to turn up. Where could she have been cremated? But Davy Jones always has a bit more room.

Ann Coulter not going to speak but still showing up? The two groups financially supporting her appearance have backed out? I guess they got some unexpectedly large bills for backing this event. I don't see this as anything but a victory for the left - again shutting down a rightist speaker.

The amount of potential free entertainment seems to be diminishing from this event.
