Imgur banned?

Hello, I posted some imgur gallery links in a reply but they appear as ****s. Is Imgur on the banned list?

Not a host I have ever heard of on this site - it does not appear to be banned specifically by name but not all banned hosts are. My guess is that imgur does not support a gallery option. Rules:

If the name is starred out i.e. ******* that means that the host is banned for use at this forum. Hosts on that list are there for a very good reason after discussion with staff and we do not normally remove them once they make the list.

Fair enough. Just wish I'd known before making the gallery. I'll try one of the 'approved' hosts.

Making the news in the UK this week - it has just been announced that imgur was hacked in 2014 compromising 1.7 million emails and passwords. Apparently it only came to light on Nov 23rd 2017, when the host was contacted by a third party. So I will be staying well clear of it and that is proof that the VEF ban was quite correct.

Awhile back I came across the anomaly that the host name without the www
wont show up as **** being banned

The real anomaly with this one is why does its banned address show up as 10 ***
It should only be 8 ***

(( seems linking to foreign websites is more restricted nowadays. a really bad idea cause it deletes all options to proof statements with sources

The link in the forum header is no longer used, it just has not been removed by the people who have that access.
