Default Music associated with books/events/people

Are there songs that you associate with a book, an event or someone; not because a movie or television show was involved, but because you happened to be listening to music that seemed to tie in with what you were doing at the time?

As an example, back in '74, this was playing:

Later I found the Tim Boxell underground comic version; this cover gives you an idea of what kind of story you would be letting yourself in for




There are some parts of the book and the comic that mesh with the vibes that the song has (and that 'stabbed it with their steely knives' would fit right in with the descriptions in the book.)
