Helluva game!
Saw the highlights on BBC3.
England appeared to be able to match New Zealand.
Towards the end of the game NZ were starting to improve and show what they were capable of but normally they'd be doing that for the full 80 minutes.
In the Wales vs Australia game the chief concern was the injury to Leigh Halfpenny.
Hope he recovers.

Doesn't seem to be a thread for the World Cup so I would just like to add how gutted I am that England were beaten by just two points by New Zealand. Had it not been for a high challenge England would have just hung on to the 18-14 lead but alas it was not to be and was it ever thus that New Zealand would get to the final again. What odds on a re-match New Zealand v Australia in the Final next week?

The current World Cup is Rugby League, not Rugby Union. That said, the tournament has been a success. Spectators have turned up and many of the grounds have enjoyed record attendances. This all in front of a backdrop of limited finance and clubs going into administration - the most recent being London Broncos.

Yes, it was a shame that England couldn't quite hold on for a victory.

In the other semi-final Australia walloped Fiji 64-0 to set up a final with the Kiwis.
