The re-make in my opinion is just awful. I only recognized two actors: Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke. The film is quite different from the original and every thing about it is quite bad. Way more violent and bloody, and dark. I don't recommend this film. I wanted to see it because I love the first one and I wanted to see how the studio would re-make it and as usual they ruined it. Do yourself a favor and see the original. Stay away from the 2016 version. What a mess!
Hollywood just thinks :MONEY.
So, for 2017 generation, let's make all remakes possible.
No matter the original movies.

Default Cadence - 1990

Just started this one:

Set on a US Army base outside Frankfurt, West Germany, in 1965, Franklin Bean, Jr. (Charlie Sheen) is a young ne'er-do-well who's unwillingly enrolled in the military by his father to straighten him out. When the elder Bean dies, Franklin goes on a binge that ends when he slugs an MP and draws 90 days in the stockade under the control of stern Sergeant Otis McKinney (Martin Sheen). Franklin's barracks-mates turn out to be the "Soul Patrol," a close-knit sextet of black soldiers, serving time on charges ranging from arson to murder. But they're not bad guys at all, actually, and Franklin wins their respect due to his skills at basketball and at defying the hated McKinney.

fellas don't get me wrong I'm not saying it's good and of course the original was way better, but IMO it wasn't that bad and it sure as hell was better than the other recent total crap westerns I saw, don't even remember their names... with the Sutherland family (Keifer shouldnt be in westerns. actually Denzel should'nt either), with Travolta, and others. I think it's mostly lousy scripts and mediocre directors who are trying to latch onto something without the actual guts (Pekinpah!)

Brazil (1985)

Trailer

The story is set in a consumer-driven dystopian world and follows the bureaucrat Sam Lowry (Jonathan Pryce) who works for a totalitarian government. But unlike 1984, Brazil is not a serious depiction of a possible totalitarian society but a satire. It's making fun of consumerism, the inefficiency of a highly bureaucratic state and poorly maintained technology. Lowry has a recurring dream in which he appears as a winged hero who fights evil monsters, trying to save a damsel in distress. This dream symbolizes his wish to escape the suffocating life he leads in a bureaucratic hell. When a man called Archibald Buttle is wrongfully arrested, Lowry is assigned by his boss Mr. Kurtzmann (Ian Holm) to minimize the damage for his department. He encounters Jill Layton (Kim Greist), a neighbor of the Buttles and witness to the arrest, who looks exactly like the woman in his dreams. Trying to locate her, Sam finds himself in a number of absurd situations and increasingly in opposition to his employer, the state.

Default Lenny - 1974

The story of acerbic 1960s comic Lenny Bruce, whose groundbreaking, no-holds-barred style and social commentary was often deemed by the Establishment as too obscene for the public.
