Or anyone from Europe. Most of the 'pizza joints' here are run by Indians, Arabs and Turks and the pizza is usually shit. There are no Italian pizza joints, only restaurants and they're in the fancy parts of the city. Luckily there's a nice Italian (style) restaurant not far from where I live. It's run by Serbs but it's really professional and their pizza is excellent.

The place is much bigger actually. Nothing compared to some 'restaurants' or 'joints'. A few weeks ago I bought a pizza in this place run by some Egyptians and it tasted like some weird acid. The hot pepper was bitter as my life. No thanks.

Most of the pizza places in my hometown are run by Europeans and of them about half are Italian

That said, this place,



Until about 3 tears ago it was owned and run by a great bloke of Turkish decent. He was one of those people that everyone knew, his service was great the atmosphere was great and food was superb His place never closed, he'd work the nights there and sometimes when things were not busy, like 2am on a Tuesday morning, if ya went in there for a feed and ate in, he'd sit down with ya and have a general chat and usually on those occasions would accept no payment That's the kind of bloke he was

Then he retired, sold it to Indians and it's become shit The menu is the same but have gone for cheaper ingredients I haven't been there in the last few years and not many of my hometown friends go there anymore.

That said, If I want Italian food, I want Luigi making it, just the same way if I want Indian food I want Gundapa Singh making it and not Luigi

Exactly my point. I enjoy Turkish food and if I want to have some, I go to a Turkish joint or restaurant. But here you see a pizzeria with a name like Giovanni and when you walk in, you realize it's not run by Italians or anything close. You're lucky because there is a big Italian community in Australia. You'll barely meet an Italian here except a tourist. The only Italian I knew was Mirko Bortolotti. His dad runs an ice cream parlor in the neighborhood where I used to live. We were never real friends but I was protecting him in the park from some bullies since I was older and could eat free ice at his parents' place.

But yeah, like you said: if I want Italian food, I'm going to Luigi damn it!

I enjoy Asian food and fortunately the Chinese restaurants here are run by the Chinese.

Over here, just my hometown and it's outlying areas at a guess there would be maybe a few dozen for a population of 200,000. That don't include the 2 main chain place either. As for the big cities, there would be hundreds in Melbourne alone. Let's just say we prefer quality

There are Chinese buffets on every street corner here in TX.From the tiniest town to the biggest.The food all tastes the same,no matter which Chinese buffet you go to.I think they make the food at huge factories,then ship it to these places all over the US?Most of these places serve swill,& one can never identify what kind of meat they are using.

I once went to one of these places & all the food was cold,even the stuff that should be hot!I complained, so the Chinese lady manager I bitched to asked the hillbillies sitting ,stuffing their faces there, "Is fud col?'.They all replied , "We kind of like it that way!Its ok to us!"

She then told me "If you no rike fud,you pay bill & get out!"
No shit,but that place seemed like a lot of them that are super crappy ,went out business & a burger Tex Mex taco place came in there, a few monthes latter!There are just about as many of those places here too!Hell like "streets" said, just make the stuff yourself!
