Gilligan is his usual bumbling self, gets knocked on the head which causes him to see everything upside down. In an effort to cure him the Professor gives him a berry juice which causes him to see first double then quintuple. Head hunters come on to the island and capture everyone but Gilligan. So Gilligan gets the idea to give the natives the berry juice, they see quintuple and run away. So in this episode Gilligan again saves the day.
I've never seen the show,I only know of it from The Simpsons.....

I used to love this show as a kid. It was on at 7:30om Sunday nights and if the family went out I used to drive my dad nuts with my continual demanding that, 'we get home in time for Gilligan."
I don't know if it's because I saw every episode so many times or because my tastes are a little more refined than that thirteen year olds, but the show hasn't stood the test of time too well.
It's funny though. If they could somehow make new episodes with the original cast still in their prime, I'd watch it.

I've seen them all dozens of times and still get a kick out of that little show. When I was a kid I was happy when they made the two cartoons and all of the reunion movies. I think Tina Louise was the only one that wasn't involved with any of the other stuff. Dawn Wells even voiced Ginger in one of the cartoons.

I must have been in my twenties when the first reunion film came out. I recall actually being quite excited about it. And I thought it was good. It captured the feel of the TV show, and it was like seeing much-loved friends again after a long absence. They should have stopped with the first one though. Movie remakes are never as good as the original show and it was sad to see how ill-health had ravaged Mister Howell.

Well I just finished the entire series. I still find it funny as heck. Yes Gilligan usually screwed it up but he was the slap stick hero in a couple of the episodes. Man Mary Ann is hot in this show, Ginger ain't bad but man Mary Ann!!!

I loved Gilligan's Island. More than love it, I believe that it predicted the future. For example, the 2012 Republican primary candidates . . . they were the cast of Gilligan's Island

Rick Perry . . . . Gilligan
The Skipper . . . . Newt Gingrich
Thurston Howell & Lovey . . . Mitt & Anne Romney
The Professor . . . Jon Huntsman (he's clearly the smartest one on the island-- but does anyone listen to him?)

MaryAnne Michelle Bachman
& a special role for "guest star" Sarah Palin as Ginger

Oh, and special guest star Ron Paul, as Igor the cosmonaut

They just ran an episode on "MeTV" where Mary Ann has a wee bit o trauma and thinks she's Ginger. So she is wearing tight dresses and has a whispery voice. And Ginger so not to further her trauma wears gingham. Oh MAN are they both hot!

I watched religiously when I was a little kid, and felt genuine anguish every time the castaways just missed being rescued. It set me up for a lifetime of angst!

I would love to see a remake movie if it were done with some dignity to the original cast.
I'm not sure who I would get to play each character but, there are some that would work well.

Gilligan - not sure this would be a tough match
Skipper = Eric Allan Kramer. His guy played the Skipper on "surviving Gilligan's island!
and did a great job.
Professor = Simon Baker
Ginger = Christina Hendricks
Mary Ann = Terly Rotherly
Mr Howell = I would've loved to see Leslie Nielsen Play this.
Mrs Howell = Betty White would've been perfect a couple of decades ago.
