thirtysomething
Bring back the original cast-two of whom are currently starring on Brothers & Sisters-and call it "fiftysomething"-and show where their lives have gone. |

I would love to see the original 'Fred Quimby' Tom and jerrys, but British TV will never show them again incase they incite young kids to violence

Preceding TV, Amos & Andy was one of the most listened to Radio shows of all time with millions of folks tuning in each week. It's popularity even crossed racial boundries at a time when this was totally unheard of. Through out all of the boroughs of New York City, folks would prop their radios up on window sills each week so friends and neighbors without them could also enjoy the show and traffic would virtually come to a stand still.
When it finally made its transition to TV, the fact that all of the main characters were played by white actors and could actually be "seen" in their blackout makeup just didn't go over well with the masses. This was a suprise to the TV networks since it had never been a secret that an all white cast had been used on the radio all along. And with racial tensions rising in America at that time, discontinuing production didn't take long. I do wish an attempt could be made to update and revamp the show because of the sheer comic genius of the orignal transcripts.

Wolfie Smith - the people's hero
Yes, like inglorious I would also love to see Citizen Smith again. I cannot imagine a remake though as it was a real product of its times. You dont see that many Che Guevara T-shirts these days and the hippy look of the Tooting Popular Front would possibly be replaced by hoodies or chavs.

I would like them to bring back Spitting Image, this show was (and still could be) cutting edge satire.

Firefly - it's a damned travesty that it was cancelled, and utter crap like Dancing on Ice are allowed to go on
There was also a comedy made in 1990 called Lazarus and Dingwall - only six episodes made, but hilariously funny. A bit like an updated, British version of Police Files, only funnier. |
