Absolutely brilliant stuff Argoman. I'm trying to get round to cross referencing the cinema info with what I have already. The scans certainly shed a great deal of light on what cinemas belonged to which chains in the late 60s/ early 70s.

Do you happen to know if there was anything carrying similar listings for the late 70s - early 80s.

Well, what a blast from the past! I can remember going to the Continentale in Brightons Kemp Town district in the early 80's, and I'm sure it still had gas lighting in the auditorium. That was just about the only thing worth noting about it, quite honestly. Presumably its been pulled down long ago. Excellent work in listing these, btw.

Not sure of any magazines that carried listings another than CFR, and they abandoned the practice in the mid-seventies. Heres one of the later ones I have from Jan 1974

The shell is still standing but the building has been converted to housing - see http://cinematreasures.org/theater/3146/ for some info on this gaslit and heated establishment.
