Two of the ISIS "Beatles" might be sent to Guantanamo Bay, where they could be tortured and executed.

Oh dear. Sounds like a terribly sad end to me :-)

I heard the International Lawyer Philippe Sands make a very good point on the radio in that as they have been stripped of their citizenship and are no longer British Nationals then legally this has got nothing to do with the British Gov't or the Home Secretary.

'If they're not British, and outside the jurisdiction, why was the letter written?'

They were "stripped of British citizenship for the “public good”. " and already pressure is being put on HMG from the usual terrorist apologists and serial do-gooders who wrongly think there is good in all of us. They want to give these evil twats a fair trial, it should not be here at our expense as they are now stateless scum, if Uncle Sam wants these Specially Designated Global Terrorist shitheads then we should send them packing (preferably in a cage in the cargo hold) to wherever the US want.

We do not want to give these scum any publicity, we know why they did what they did, because they are twisted bigoted murdering fanatical vermin, what more do we need to know? They will only be turned into martyrs if they get the oxygen of publicity, the least that should happen is we lock the scum away and allow no contact with the outside world.

People who survived and relatives of those killed want to see a trial, they are more understanding than me of these shitheads but as I say precisely what will that achieve? A trial just gives them more opportunity to spout their venom, a military trial would be preferable.

I'm not a supporter of the death penalty in general but these crimes are so horrific they cannot be dealt with like normal criminals. Personally I'd like to see them kept in solitary confinement till they die, if however we do deport them and the US choose to kill them then "Let it Be".....

I guess not many people outside the professional bleeding heart liberal types such as the egregious Shami Chakrabati will be feeling very unhappy for members of the ISIL "Beatles" iif and when strange fruit time arrives. I hope their deaths are extremely slow.

But I have to respectfully point out that fair trials are not reserved for people we happen to like. The point of a fair trial is to reduce the risk of an Alfred Dreyfuss style act of racist victimisation in which being accused is the same thing as being guilty. It seems America doesn't like fair trials and that merelyt being sent to Guantanamo Bay means that a trial or even an inquiry is not required because you must be guilty - or else they wouldn't have sent you to Guantanamo Bay...

Prisoners of war are not criminals, they are prisoners of war, as such, civil rights do not extend to them.
Generally, they are held until the war is over, or executed, depending on various factors.
That would be when there are no more Islamic militants around, in effect, for life.

Just for the record, prisoners of war have rights and status under international law. If it should happen to be the case that the detainees at Guantanamo Bay are prisoners of war, then keeping them there in the way they are being kept contravenes the Geneva Convention.

If on the other hand they are terrorists and criminals, then let them be tried in law courts which employ due process and rules of evidence. For any ISILs duly convicted, I don't care if they are crushed to death with steamrollers. But the rules of evidence must apply, or else we might as well put pillow cases over out heads and burn crosses.

International law is an oxymoron, and even then, Islamic militants are not signatories to it.
Would you fight by the Queensbury Rules in a streetfight?
Oh, and terror is merely a military tactic, not an occupation or descriptor of people.
Soldiers and armies use terror tactics, whether they be irregulars or not.

Despite the fact that law and order are under considerable strain in the UK right now and people seem to feel they can do terrible things to each other whenever they choose, I am generally not in favour of capital punishment. I don't want to live in the kind of society where violence rules, capital punishment is considered acceptable and routinely takes place.

But this situation is somewhat different and on a higher level. All the available evidence seems to indicate that these two remaining ISIS Beatles (and clearly many of their associates) are the kind of psychopaths that have no right to exist on our miserable planet. So unless someone has really good evidence to the contrary, they need to be executed without any further delay.

We are at war with these Islamic terrorist scum and they won't hesitate to do truly appalling things to any of us, our loved ones and friends given half a chance. We must deal with them accordingly and not piss about.
