I remember when this happened, it was pretty shocking.
Sorry you had to find out this way Flame, that's harsh. I've always wondered how difficult it must be for many performers in the industry to deal with the loss of people they have been intimate with... regardless of whether it's work or not, theres still a certain camaraderie that must exist within parts (not all) of the industry. Someone like Peter North works with virtually every talent that has been in porn since the early 80's... I can't imagine what it must be like to have known so many people who came to tragic ends by accident, suicide or misadventure. |

I'm almost 40 and I guess just beginning to feel the tug of how the world used to be. But I can't help feeling unbearable sadness when a PB Playmate I used to like is gone. To remember them being so beautiful, vibrant and alive, and to know that they are now buried in some cemetery just reminds me of how fragile and transitory life is. In a strange way it almost feels that part of my youth has died too. Has anyone else felt this way?

Kandi Barbour RIP?
Quote:
The whole this Kandi Barbour thing seems really strange to me. I've learned about it just a week ago. I can't believe it, actually. How could a woman so beautiful who had so much money and SO much friends in the industry die HOMELESS? More of it, there are no mentions in the official newspapers, no police reports, no photos... All we have is Carter Stevens' FB-post about his phone-talk with the police officer and two messages on lukeisback.com http://www.lukeisback.com/?s=kandi+barbour. I wonder if really NO-ONE of her ex-colleagues was not in SF to come and recognize the body? No fan give some money to bury her? I liked her a lot. I still believe it was a mistake, believe they've found another homeless girl... |

Kandi Barbour
Yeah, I remembering this from VEF. I can't speak to the question of her death, but it seems to me that the "star" aspect of porn "stars" rises and fades meteorically. Though she may have had friends and even money in porn, I sense a better question would be how much of the money did she make or keep and how many friends were real? Sad but not a big stretch to hear she died homeless; consider how many porn star died closer to their prime.

Found this on the website, "Find A Grave.com" just a few minutes ago. Near the bottom of the article you can see that the poster states that the body was donated to science. Just wondering if Kandi was indeed homeless how does that request manifest itself to the proper authorities upon death? I, for one, hope that this is all a mistake and that she is still with us. As a long time porn fan and admirer of some of the beautiful performers from the 70's and 80's, I can't help but mourn for her passing if she is indeed gone.
