Enzo Sciotti extracted Miss Brigitte Streubel from this October 77 Oui magazine
for his Edifumetto cover of "Pig" on February 84. Published then by Elvifrance on 88.

Hugh Joseph Ward (1909 - 1945) was an American illustrator, early passed away (around 35 old) from a lung cancer. He mainly worked for pulp magazines. Wiki

Some originals first, note that these are oils on canvas with relatively large dimensions: 28.5 x 19.5 inches (72cm x 50cm), 1935-45.

Covers for Culture Publications (later renamed Trojan Publications) famous for its
"Spicy Adventure", "Spicy Detective", "Spicy Mystery", "Spicy Western".
For my taste these are Ward's most interesting works, with an incredible sense of framing and movement.
And of course hundreds of damsels in distress : he painted an average of about 50 covers per year :
