The Right Wing Political Superheroes Thread
Who's you favourite right wing politician or commentator?
Mine, Former Aussie PM Tony Abbott The 1 thing I admired him for, more than anything, is that, after our 2010 Federal election, both parties were tied on seats won, and there were 3 independents who were willing to negotiate to form Government. Abbott flatly refused to negotiate and said he would prostitute the parties policies to form Government, and thus not being to fully deliver the campaign promises and issues. That is integrity.

Margaret Hilda Thatcher, Baroness Thatcher
Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1979 to 1990 and Leader of the Conservative Party from 1975 to 1990. She was the first female British prime minister and the longest-serving British prime minister of the 20th century. As prime minister, she implemented economic policies that became known as Thatcherism - also known as "policies that work that people who didn't despise."
She stressed self-reliance and pragmatism, and while she is not without fault, she was probably one of the most influential politicians in the world, in her decade, plus in power. |

He was definitely right of centre. The UK hasn't had a left wing government since the 1970s.
That's why so many Tory voters voted for him. He was Tory-lite. Less dysfunctional, still fiscally and mostly socially conservative. Like Starmer is trying to be now. |

I found this rather insightful response to that question online:
Quote:
You can read his maiden speech to the House: Quote:

Was that Blair's maiden speech or Corbyn's?

The true hero
Ronald Wilson Reagan
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:E...ollege1980.svg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:E...ollege1984.svg Swept into power by a growing realistion that a new socially and fiscally conservative America would do better than it had been. He won the Cold War. He was essentially as close to a Libertatian as a modern politician can be, and I love him for that. |

That would be Tony's. Corbyn used his to let the House know he was bought & paid for by the Trade Unions.
