Correct on all counts....take it from a kiwi....

tm wants "conversation" (/controversy?), rather than information.

I agree. That's what this thread is about.

For instance, I could tell you what living in England is like - it's a small place but I've only ever lived in London and the south. I have no idea what it would be like to live in the Yorkshire Dales, industrial north or Cornwall.

Perhaps NZ differs hugely between north and south island but I don't think a Google search would give you much feel for that.

I think effCup's being understandably protective of his islands in exactly the same way that I'm not.

Still for a bum like me to have made over $500 in a day only to arrive home and find another $350 from sale of woodcraft items to tourists, I should cut some slack, perhaps.

Tasmania's still Australia's best kept secret, right?

As your name is Pepper, shouldn't that be "May I introduce to you..." ?

Actually it does.... all you'd have to do is search 'images' rather than general

Ah but how does it feel?. Is the breeze different? Is the animal life equivalent? What birdsong can I hear?

A picture on a screen may tell a thousand words but has no emotion or poetry - no hint of the human experience.

Besides my eyes are shot - double astigmatic and as near-sighted as a bag of bats.
