We are picking who we think will be the winners for each American Football game every weekend. The name of the city/team is the team you think will win in their game this week. The number at the bottom is the amount of points you think will be scored by both teams combined in Monday nights game. This total points scored number is used as a potential tiebreaker in case two of us pick the same amount of correct games. First numbers on each line our date and start time of game in ET or Eastern Time Zone. Make sense?

Ok here's something that has been bugging me for a few months now and I think only applies to American shows.
Why...oh why have t-shirts, posters in workshops, signs on vans etc been pixilated or blurred out? This kind of thing never use to occur but is happening with great regularity lately that it's very annoying. |

When someone asks if you want to go get a coke, it's the same as saying "let's go to the store and get a drink". It's just simpler. For example, we always say "I'm going to the beer store, anybody need anything?" Saying 'Beer Store' let's everyone know what your getting and is easier than saying "I'm going to the store for some beer, anyone want anything?". It's actually a very English thing to do...pronounce Leicester or Worcester. Car park is much simpler than parking lot. Roundabout is easier than traffic circle. |

Do anyone in the U.S. have pineapple on pizza?
When we were there on holiday 20 years ago we rang for a pizza and asked for pineapple (I mean not JUST pineapple but other stuff as well). "Pineapple?" the guy said "Are you from Canada??" Here in Australia one of the most common pizzas is the Hawaiian that has ham and pineapple on it. Any Hawaiians here verify the pizza named after them contains ham and pineapple? I think my wife said in Brazil pineapple on pizzas is not common as well. |

I don't know if it was invented in Hawaii or not but with pineapples being so closely identified with Hawaii maybe that how the name came about.

with regards to the earlier posts regarding the blurring of brand names on shirts etc......
how does this work with bare boobies on springer??? are they afraid that "brenda's nipple patch emporium" will withdraw their sponsorship deal..???? or is the home of the world's biggest porn industry just full of double standards...?????

As I alluded to in response to the earlier post, our government's media watchdog, the FCC, makes the rules on what us common folk can view on network TV. The FCC also plays watchdog for the non-satellite radio industry in terms of content and language. So that means, no seven dirty words (see George Carlin), and most of all for the love of all mankind and for the protection of our children from the forces of evil and for the grace of our Lord and the survival of our blessed country..........no nudity allowed! Now it's almost 7:00 here and I'm getting ready for my favorite TV show tonight. It's one of the highest rated shows in America. It's called "Violence, Violence, Violence". I know.... it's a clever name. It's on TV every night here. What was that you said again about double standards?

Thanks keefriff for staying up and answering our queries. I think you have earned the right to avoid this thread for a few days
As for the double standards post. I have visited the U.S. twice....in 1990 and 1993 for the entire time there I did not see one single (or a pair for that matter) breast on network tv. |
