Britain's Starmen-Heroes of Astronomy. Astounding documentary following four renowned astrophysists in their 80's as they embark on a road trip across America visiting the astronomies where they had worked years before. Four 80+ men with incredible stories but tragically one of them was too ill to continue and several months later, due to an incurable disease, died. It was uplifting and sad but it showed that age didn't stop them from fulling a dream. BBC FOUR catch it if you can.

The new series on Netflix, "Designated Survivor". Kiefer Sutherland is the Secretary for Housing and Urban Development in the US Cabinet. Earlier in the day, the White House Chief of Staff tells him that the President is going to sack him; well, promote him sideways out of the Cabinet. But that night he is the "designated survivor" , the Cabinet member left behind as a safeguard during the State of the Union address. Well, forces unknown blow up the Capitol, taking out all of the top tier of US government. So he's President. Been described as The West Wing mixed with Homeland and House of Cards. Sutherland is superb; he says that after reading a couple of scripts he felt like "the next ten years of my life are taken care of".

Enjoyed Westworld very much and it looks like it could be a decent long running show with lots of potential. Designated survivor I didn't think would interest me but it's actually a good show.

Big Grin Hows about that then...

Just had an old episode of 'To The Manor Born' on (the 'Yesterday' channel) and during a scene at a railway station I noticed one of the posters were blurred
The Beeb aren't averse to silent backhanders from advertising so I guessed it could only be one thing

I searched the banner headline which was legible,
"Read This, Pay Less" , and sure enuff...

Aunty Beeb going to extraordinary lengths to erase a certain Knight of the realm from history.

Today I went into town and I brought the film score for West World on CD.

https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....bL._SY355_.jpg

It features all the music from this utterly superb show.

It's not until you can actually sit down and listen to it that you can notice just how deep and atmospheric the score is.
There are some tracks that I've already identified has being my favourites.

E.g Track 3-Black Hole Sun (from Maeve's bar):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mq364f4RGqE

Track 4-Paint It Black (from the safe robbery):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3iZ9JRVmJ5o

For me this whole scene was probably one of the best parts of the entire series! This music just absolutely gelled with this whole scene.

Counterpart. Kind of John le Carré meets Harry Turtledove.

Inside no 9 the devil of Christmas just amazed me .
If we're not talking about just in the present sense that is .

Anyhow I'm still sleeping with the light on and the doors double checked locked after that ending .
Seek it out .

The BBC's Planet Earth II was amazing in 2016, but last year Blue Planet II was even better, the amazing photography, strange animals and the seascapes were beautifully shot and great commentary again from Sir David Attenborough - surely a contender for BAFTA again?
