What would it take for Stockings and Suspenders/Garters to make a big comeback? - Page 5

I think it's all about practicality. It's far less time consuming and bothersome for a woman to just pull on a pair of tights than it is to put on a suspender belt, pull on each individual stocking and then do up the suspenders front and back. We men might find the sight of women in stockings and suspenders erotic and sexy, but to the women themselves, these items were/are just items of underwear. Sure, they can/will wear them to make themselves look sexy in the bedroom etc. They could make a comeback if they became 'fashionable' again. Women want to be a part of the crowd and never the odd one out which is why they are suckers for fashion.
I think it's a rare thing even to see a woman in a dress or a skirt nowadays. They all want to wear jeans or leggings.

I am a woman and I wear skirts and dresses daily. I don't own any slacks, jeans, shorts or leggings. I was taught to dress like a lady as well as look like a lady and act like a lady at all times. I have never liked pantyhose and hate having to wear them. I would much rather put on a garter belt and stockings than pantyhose any day of the week. I don't see how pantyhose survived as long as they have, they ruin many opportunities. One of the best things about stockings and garter belts is that if I find myself wanting a quick bend over all I have to do is bend over and pull my panties to the side and he's in. One of the most convenient things about that is the damage control afterward, all I have to do is pull my panties back in place and they will contain the mess not to mention I will have a very sexy reminder the rest of the day what had happened.

I personally would LOVE to see stockings make a comeback! I especially love the RHT and FF stockings of the past, the new stockings are not nearly as nice as the vintage ones.

I'm not sure what it would take, but I will say my best friend I think has made a connection between her wearing seamed stocking with how attentive I am.

I get quite a bit of attention and rather messy when I wear seamed stockings. I don't understand why more women don't want to wear them.

I reckon John Holmes and his mates...had a contract to the effect that every bimbo he bonked or buggered had to wear stockings with suspenders....heels left on...for my generation..and the women who might have viewed that bit of our history...it has had a lasting effect.

I don't believe they need to make a comeback..in the privacy of bedrooms across the world, anyway....women well know the effect they have on men....but they do need to be celebrated in the eye of publicly available porn...much of which now is ...shit. Profit based....no fun..no story....completely lacking in imagination.

Stocking clad legs used to be that in real life- an everyday thing....a tweak of a seam in the presence of a man...the slightest glance of a top within a split-skirt...subtle signals....a woman dressed with Intent...voyerism given it's head...

The last person to cause a surge in the wearing of stockings and suspenders was Christina Aguliera, otherwise you don't even see them that often in swingers clubs or on tgirls these days. You see the naughty knickers stalls on markets having to diversify into fancy dress,and stuff for hen nights as they don't sell enough basques and suspender belts to stay open.

Well if the RHT & FF stockings were more readily available and didn't cost an arm and a leg I would definitely wear them daily. I do wear stockings with a garter belt or open bottom girdle daily though but the stockings that are affordable come from National and are nothing like vintage stockings. I absolutely hate pantyhose!

Going off on that, I think the solution is rather simple, yet technical: Guys need to speak up. For those of us that love to see women in stockings and suspenders, as I certainly do, then maybe it would be beneficial to drop a few hints during conversations with women/lady friends.

A scenario:
You and your girlfriend (or even friends who are girls, I have many of them) are walking by a store and see a pair of stockings on a mannequin model. A simple line like, "those stockings look nice" or maybe even give your girlfriend a pair for her birthday or your anniversary or something.

Certainly worth a try...if you mentioned that her legs looked ordinary without stockings on...you might find yourself getting fish and chips for dinner on a weekend..on your own...catch 22

How about....buying some as a gift?....she might get the idea that's what you like..without a word said...might be worth the stupendous cost they represent nowadays...
