1.The serialkiller who kills 2 kids and their mother and father and then continue with other victims.
2.The soldier who did the same in an attack somewhere in Vietnam-Afghanistan-Iraq-Sobibor>>(WWII) 3.The father who kills his daughter's rapist. 4.A man who stabs another man/woman just because he felt doing so at that time. 1. - Death penalty 2. The Vietnam Vet was most likely drafted and once you are in real combat the only reality is that you want to do anything you can to survive, even if that means killing other people. To think otherwise is suicide. I'd say most soldiers go into the military because it's either the only choice they have to get themselves off the ground or they've bought into all the romantic bullshit that propagandists have tried to associate with the war against "evil" (aka anyone the US has designated as an enemy). WWII vets come to mind. In either situation I wouldn't equate example number 1 with number 2. 3. Give the guy a medal if the guy indeed raped the girl. 4. Did the person die? If so snuff him out, otherwise slap a decent length sentence on him and see if prison can "rehabilitate" him. |
