Situationally aware or being an ass - ?

So I was taking my walk this morning in my neighborhood, saw a light skinned man in dark clothing - 20's to 30's - dragging/scrapping his feet - carrying a 36 to 48 type box of what turned out to be off brand energy bars. About a third of a block away - he noticed me - appeared to consciously drop his box - look straight at me - an old Asian man with white hair - and start calling out repeatedly "Sir!"

Since it appeared to me he dropped his box to get me close to him, in my mind picking my pocket or just mugging me, I did my Asian deaf or "no speakee Engrish" impersonation as I abruptly turned and walked away from him. The "Sirs!" became "Fuck You's" - and my initial feelings of being a bad person turned into my normal belief that people are Shit.

He left 9 of the off brand energy bars on the ground, seen when I continued my laps around the block - he had long since disappeared from view.

I was wondering what you guys thought and perhaps would enjoy another perspective of perhaps a young guy wanting to fondle an old Asian's package or other scenario your warped minds can manufacture. Unfortunately, it was certainly a male or a very unattractive female with a deep voice.

I was asked "What brand" on another site, so here is some pics. 2:20 AM - over 12 hours on the street and no one has bothered them.

if it was me ? I woulda kept walking. SMART move not picking them. the friendly/rude old man calls the law and says YOU tried to rob him and YOU have the candy bars.

The bars are now all flatten and smeared on the road.

I'll get my flat nose shovel and clean it up tomorrow.

uhmmmmmm uhhhhhh...is there a LOT of pedestrian traffic where the bars fell ? am surprised no stray animals have eaten them..makes you question whats IN those bars ?

not sure why you concerned abiout the bars left on the ground...unless you are worried some INNOCENT old person FALLS on them......

The square ended shovels, called flat nose or square end, etc. by people as I grew up.

I didn't take a pic of the flatten bars, just threw them in my garbage cans. No idea if any animals picked at them.....they did not move that far from where they were dropped - and eventually flattened.....by passing vehicles....I assume.

*I am not the neatest person around, but I do pick up garbage from my walks - parts of tire tread, bumper parts, plastic bags, etc. Saw an older Asian male cleaning up crap on his block too and decided he had the right idea.
