I met the current Austrian president Alexander Van der Bellen 8 years ago when he was still just a chain-smoking member of the Austrian parliament.

Dave Gilmour
I met Dave Gilmour and had lunch with him at a classic car racing day.
He was my all time hero - Floyd were the soundtrack of my yoof. You know, usual teenage angst bollocks - "wail, at least someone in the world understands me", and all that drivel Frankly, he was a tool. Stereotypical "I'm a bored rock star, there is nothing left to impress me," vibe. Bloody rude too. So, as they say, never meet your heros. Nevertheless, Pink Floyd ARE still the greatest band to ever grace the earth, and now that I'm wracked with grumpy middle-aged angst, at least someone understands me... A few weeks ago I went to a Star Trek convention and had the opportunity, which I did not pass up, to shake hands with both Walter Koenig, the original Chekov, and Rene Auberjonois, Odo from ST: DS9.
