The final episode of this season of Star Trek Discovery. Overall it has has been very watchable. This is a grittier Star Trek, even if everyone in Starfleet is still impossibly noble and self-sacrificing...including the former Terran Empress. Bet she's not dead.
What annoys me about it? 1: that explosions still make a noise in Space...come on, treat us with a bit of intelligence 2: Michael Burnham taking time out to emote all over the place while the universe collapses in flames behind her and the Captain requests her urgent presence on the bridge. 3: Ensign fcukin' Tilly. Who thought a Starfleet Officer with serious responsibilities and the focus of a guppy was a good idea. The character is stupidly unbelievable. |

Ensign Tilly represents not only the exuberance of youth but also personifies the younger elements of the Millennial and Z generations here on the earth of our time, two generations who are unfettered by the norms of past ideologies who are boldly going into their future with new ways of addressing cultural problems. Frankly, I think we should all feel a bit better in this knowledge that finally a generation has come along with the greatest chance of getting it right when it comes to our society. Give Tilly a chance- I think you may grow to see the wisdom of her and her peer's ways. (P.S.- agreed with you on Burnham. Why does everything with this one have to be a breathless crisis? Wow.) |

Nah seriously, I try to be mindful of giving spoilers. I'll just say it's a reasonably satisfying conclusion to this season. |

I've just watched Dr Strange on TV. I am a rather tired of Superhero stuff which all tends to be the same theme re-packaged and I'm not a massive fan of Cumberbatch. However, I really quite enjoyed this movie. Too many special effects for my liking which in some cases seemed to be ripped off from Inception, but really not bad entertainment - IMHO!

I know it's mainly a woman's thing, but as the family binge on it,
I've slowly grown to like it from the bits and pieces I've seen. FLEABAG BBC |

P.S.
I don't think a male writer could get away with this from Fleabag. Sister comes out of loo and grabs carrier bag "Leave it alone, that's my miscarraige" Fleabag meets the new Catholic priest, and searches online for "masturbating priests" She continually breaks the 4th wall, with a sneer or a raised eyebrow... and it works. BBC iPlayer have all of the second, and last series, for those in the UK. |

The Conclusion of Counterpart. Finally it all makes sense. Sadly I get the impression there'll be no more seasons. I'll say no more in case people haven't got there yet.

Really strugged with this show. Didn't know what was going on half the time or which reality things were set in. Must be down to me I suppose!
