Question About Private Messages

Hello to anyone reading this!

I have a question about private messages that hopefully someone can take a moment to answer. What happens if you try to send a PM to someone who did not "enable private messaging" or elected to "Receive Private Messages only from Contacts and Moderators" in their control panel? To those who don't know what I'm referring to, here is a pic of what I mean:

Do you get some sort of message saying that the intended recipient did not "enable private messaging" or elected to "Receive Private Messages only from Contacts and Moderators" or does the message you tried to send just disappear into the void?!

The former. Note that if a member has disabled private messages, the corresponding link in their user profile is not available, nor is the

button in their posts. If you try to send them a message anyway, e.g. by entering

into the browser's URL bar, you' get a vBulletin Message:

XXXXXX has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her.

If you are trying to send this message to multiple recipients, remove XXXXXX from the recipient list and send the message again.
