Do yourself a favor __Wayward. Ignore Trailmaster's weird posts. He gets stir crazy while snowed in during those bleak Chicago winters. He lives in a high crime area on Chicago's South Side. It is risky venturing out during the warmer months, although not nearly as risky as it would be if Trailmaster was black. So, he gets stir crazy in those months, too.

The downside of being white in these neighborhoods is that many black folks feel that they should either approach you to panhandle or try to hold you up. The obvious fact that a white person would not be living in a rundown area close to the stockyards if they actually had money does not appear to register.

I had a life too, but I'm almost 70 now. __Wayward probably still has to work. Both my parents have passed away. My brothers live in other states. I have few friends. If that darn Michael Reese Hospital had not closed I might still be working there. After they closed I tried to get a job in other hospitals , but all they had was night shift work. So I retired at age 57. The main thing that gives purpose to my life is vef. That might seem sad to most people, but for me it's most of what makes my life worth living!

If you talking about me I don't live anywhere near where the stockyards used to be(There are no more stockyards in Chicago like there used to be 60 years ago). I live in a fairly good mostly black neighborhood, but one of the best neighborhoods (Hyde Park) where the University of Chicago is, is just 3 miles north of me. Home also to the famous Museum of Science & Industry, the world famous University of Chicago Hospitals and the southside's most affluent area.

I love to procrastinate. I won't get a new computer until this one either completely falls apart or if Opera says it will no longer support Vista. So far Opera is still supporting Vista.

Lucky you, I live in Oakland's 3rd Council District, but it could be worse. I lived in the 6th District during my drinking days. Nothing quite like the thrill of finding dead junkies in the garage in the morning. That was where the neighbor behind me came home from work and found that his guard dogs had been stolen.
