Can't imagine the Brits will be too kind to him, but on the other hand for diplomatic reasons I'd expect they'd avoid him being too battered by the general prison population.

They would probably like to stick him in the Country Club (aka Ford Open Prison) with footballers and disgraced politicians, but this young man is from a wealthy family with self-evidently no proper sense of shame. He would abscond and his enabling parents would pay for him to escape back to America, and they would think they were justified in doing it. He can't be in any open prison.

If I were HMG I would stick him in an ordinary city prison but in a cell with someone seriously hard as nails, and do a deal with the old lag to make it worth his while to make absolutely sure that the silly Yankee brat doesn't get used as a condom.

No doubt this is true, but I can't help thinking that when Ivar the Boneless was in charge, the recidivism rate was nil.
