At this time of year and especially today I don't like to read or hear about things like that(today being the eve of the Jewish New Year) but it is terrible to think that there are still people who feel that resurrecting that awful race of people(and I use that loosely) who made the lives of us and others a misery-its like a very bad smell-isn't it going against that old adage "those who don't learn from history are destined to repeat it!" God help us all!

Is it still the official Russian position that Russia has not intervened in the Donbass region of Ukraine to encourage, ferment and assist separatist rebellion? Does Russia still claim that she did not infiltrate Crimea and overthrow Ukraine's government of Crimea?

You see, nobody other than Communist sympathisers is even interested in what Russia has to say for herself anymore. It is just white noise, static on the air waves.

Yes. The problem was the US-financed coup, not Russia. It's no surprise Russians would defend other Russians against such aggression

Yes, because there was no infiltration -- Crimea never sensibly belonged to Ukraine because all the people there are Russian. If you don't know the history, ask a Crimean

L'Shanah Tovah means Happy New Year and it is marked with apple, cholah and honey-this is so we are guaranteed or at least hope for a sweet year. The ludicrous thing is that directly after the New Year you then have the solemnest day of that year Yom Kippur-Day of Atonement when you ask for forgiveness for your sins(assuming you have committed them) and a big Book is opened for God to consider your fate. Once that book is closed your fate for the year is sealed - its a bit like confession and you atone for your sins by fasting for 25hrs and not indulge in any form of entertainment including conjugal rights(thats sex to you) or do any work. You go to the synagogue and read and pray. We unfortunately don't fast the whole day due to my mother and I having type II diabetes and need to take our pills with water and with food but I normally go from the evening when it comes in(called Kol Nidrei) until around 4pm the next afternoon which is enough. It is said that if you feel bad or have a headache stop immediately-your health should come first to your faith. So far I've not experienced that and have been fasting for over 45 years since I was old enough to do so.

Perhaps the Finnish should stop acting like assholes towards the Swedes.

The preliminary election results look as follows: the social democrats claim "victory", getting 26,2% of the votes. I wouldn't call that a victory with the Sweden Democrats being very close to 20%. The block composed of the social democrats, greens and the Left Party get 39,4% while the liberal-conservative coalition arrives at 39,6%.
