I always thought Paul Thomas was a pretty good actor; definitely Robert Kerman. What about Ron Jeremy?

I hold Ron Jeremy highly in this thread, he is a natural infront of the camera.
Marilyn Chambers proved she could act as well in a mainstream film, so she gets a nod as well.
Paul Thomas and John Leslie and even Joey Silvera could show their acting skills as well.
For the ladies, for me Vanessa Del Rio, Seka and Juliet Anderson wer totally natural infront of the cameras as well

Karin Schubert was a trained actress, who only turned to hardcore as a "mature" star, when she was no longer in line to play Goldilocks but not yet right for Miss Marple.

More generally many 'Golden Age' individuals who were actors first and porn performers second.

Seems like the French and German actresses from the 70's and 80's had a higher level of acting skills. They also had the benefit of having better stories and scripts to work from.

Or maybe they are more convincing to me because I don't understand their language.

She is a modern actress, so she probably doesn't strictly belong here, but so few of the modern "stars" actually seem to show actings skills....Kimberly Kane. Check out the first Sex Files. She does a really extraordinary Scully. If Gillian wasn't available, I think she could legitimately do a "regular" film.

I'd agree with many of the names already mentioned, especially Jamie Gillis, John Leslie, Paul Thomas, R Bolla, Veronica Hart, Eric Edwards, Annette Haven etc.

I'd add Jesie St James and, best of all, Desiree West. Her scene with John Leslie in Sex World is easily of mainstream cinema quality, as is her performance with Jamie Gillis in Vista Valley PTA. Her scenes in Babyface, Joy of Letting Go and Expectations aren't far behind either. Good range too.

I'm surprised no one here mentioned Randy Spears! He's so good that i always wondered why he didn't try conventional movies!

I always thought it was a damn shame that Georgina Spelvin never got a break and went on to legitimate acting. And yes, I know about that Police Academy movie. I'm not talking about joke cameos.
She went through a terrible alcoholic slide in the 70s, hitting bottom in 1977. Who knows, if she'd made the transition to legit roles, she might not have taken to the bottle...

Ron Jeremy could play being Ron Jeremy; this wasn't acting.A good actor loses his own identity in that of the part he plays and Ron never did that.Neither did any male pornstar I can think of act to save his life.
