Olinka: is she French or Polish?
I always considered that Olinka was a Polish actress who made her way into French and German porn.
Until I read about her on the Internet, information yet to be confirmed. She would be born in France, with a German father and a Polish mother, and would have grown up in the Cannes area. She would later have studied in Paris. Olinka would then be, like many French people, a French woman with foreign origins. The problem is that in the movies in which you can hear a voice she speaks with a strong Slavic accent. For me, there are two possibilities: She was born and grew up in Poland, then emigrated to France. It seems unlikely that her family would have moved from France to a communist country. Her Slavic accent was fake. After all, Olinka was a lot into looks and pretending. She pretended being Marilyn. Pretending to be Polish could have been an exotic asset for French and German markets. For me, her accent is too strong to be genuine. Even Roman Polanski, who was born in Paris and was raised in Poland does not speak like that. Note that, beyond the accent, her French is always perfect. Any opinion, extra information? |

Well if your internet source is correct with a German father and a Polish mother living in France it would be no surprise if she spoke all three languages fluently. But with slightly unusual accents.
Unlike the UK many, if not most, Europeans are multi lingual. And once you can speak 2 it's much easier to learn a 3rd. It's well known that the key to speaking a language is to use it regularly. That's why the Dutch rebroadcast all their surrounding countries TV programs so every Dutch person can speak at least 6 languages fluently. Of course you sometimes trip over yourself like me skiing in Tignes ordering 'Deux Grosse Bier' instead of 'Deux Grand Bier'. The only real opinion that matters is Olinka's. |

Most infos you can find on the internet about Olinka Hardiman are wrong. She is neither from France, Poland or Germany but from former Czechoslovakia. Olinka studied dancing in Prague before she became a photo model and later porn actress. My sources are vintage magazines from the 1980s and a french photographer who said that it was not easy to comunicate with her because she could hardly speak french.
Olinka is one of the best known 1980s european porn stars but almost no info about her is available. Very strange. Nobody seems to know what she is doing today. |

Thanks Rontom. If all information on the Internet is wrong, and you have several sources confirming she is Czech, this must be the end of the mistery.

A year ago I tried to correct the Wikipedia info about Olinka but I failed. The german writer told me that most internet sources claim that she is from France so it must be true. How stupid is that? Writing an Wikipedia page about Olinka with no knowledge?
