But in fact, in our Flemish dialect we call it vélo.

So do the French.
In several Swiss German dialects too: das Velo, while German people say: das Fahrrad.

Totally agree

There's a lot of people who shouldn't be even allowed on the roads for sure or who should go back and re-read what the rules of the road are

I wish they all were. The Sherman was renowned for bursting into flames at the drop of a hat. Crews nick-named them "Ronsons" because it would "Light the first time, every time".

Another annoying thing living in an apartment complex with communal shared bins is the idiots who pile recyclables or rubbish into one bin to the point of overflowing rather than make two steps to the right and put things in another bin which has room for their items

Surely they aren't that busy in their life or that lazy they can't take two further steps....

At least they are putting it in the bin.

I lived in apartment complexes where people just leave their trash on the ground, or in the parking lot or if they do walk all the way to the bin, they leave their trash outside of it because the bin's door flaps are closed and they don't want to touch them to open them.

That is a lot worse

We get people getting new TV's, fridges, etc who just dump the box in the general area of the bins in the hope that the box will somehow magically make itself small enough to fit in the bin

Body Corp meetings where the issue is raised aren't much help either as unless we can positively ID who is doing it they can't do much (unless somebody moves in and suddenly there's a lot of appliance boxes, etc)

I lived in a complex in the 90's and the trash dumpster was at the end of the parking lot in a non gated community and anyone can drive by and dump their trash.

The dumpster was always full of trash left by non residents: entire mattresses or sofas could be found in it or even bags of grass clippings and leaves and tree branches from landscaping companies driving by and using our dumpster as a public landfill.

Once you put a couple of mattresses and box springs in it, there isn't much room for anything else even a few full trash bags.

Then once it's filled up, we had to put our trash outside of it so every week there will be piles and piles of white and black full trash bags all around the outside.

The truck comes by, lifts the dumpster to empty it and just sets its back down, sometimes on top of the bags of our trash that have toppled over onto the pavement where the dumpster was sitting at when it was lifted up.

The driver is not going to come out of the truck to pick up all those bags and throw them into the dumpster and then reempty it and then repeat the process until there is not one trash bag left.

So once he leaves, maintenance (sometimes it's tenants that live in the buildings near that dumpster) comes by and puts all those bags into the dumpster and it's full again and there are still many trash bags outside of it that it didn't have room for.

The complex had 700 units, with the buildings laid out into one big gigantic rectangle and there were only 4 dumpsters for the whole complex, each one located at each corner of the rectangle.

I moved as soon as my one year lease was up.

I exploded and jumped out of my car and started screaming at him ... Look you fucking asshole, do you see that metal sign mounted on that wooden post and those letters painted in yellow on the pavement that say Stop Ahead, well they are meant for you, I have the right of way you fucking dummy!

I believe one reason why most cyclists do not stop at those crossings is because stopping would interrupt the speed and momentum they have built up and require starting over.
That's too fucking bad!
Coincidentally, I just learned that two days ago there was an accident between a bicycle rider and a motorist at the very bike crossing where I had my near incident!

It was determined that the bike rider was traveling like a bat out of hell and did not stop at the crossing and crashed into an approaching vehicle crossing the bike path.

Fortunately the bike rider only sustained some scratched and bruises this time and his bike was rendered out of commission, and the vehicle probably sustained a few dings and scratches.
