This is a very unique section of the I & M Canal trail in the town of Utica, LaSalle County, Illinois. You can see in the nearground the two bikers and the crushed limestone canal trail. Behind them is the canal, and in the foreground is a rocky cliff with what appears to be a hole in it. That is actually a mini tunnel on a freight train line. I was lucky enough when I was hiking this part of the trail in November of 2002 to actually see the train go through this small tunnel which is called "split rock".
