Currently using a tablet as those scummy oiks at Microdaft uploaded windows10 on my system at last nights update
I tried this morning but it was so annoying the layout is shit, it was harder to view open windows, I have well into double figure windows open and it was never an issue with windows 7 I am just going through the rigmarole of getting this'd corporate virus uninstalled and getting windows 7 back From what I saw of 10 it was a pain to see all my windows it is not as intuitive as 7 and had only one improvement I noticed and that was quite minor. As others have said if I wanted the damn thing I would have done the free instal myself. Edit --- 17:38 back to windows 7 Now leave my machine alone you software pimps

To come back to Windows 10, I remember Microsoft having proudly published a list of improvements over Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. One of this 'improvements' was the speedness at startup. I think this was much overdone. Each morning at startup my machine under Windows 7 is ready for work after 2 min. 20 seconds exactly and after the loading of BitDefender. When I use my machine under Windows 10, it is practically the same. Sometimes it takes longer. That is another amongst numerous lies from Microsoft. |

No descriptions = NO updates
When I ran Windows Update today at 2:09pm, I saw eleven (11) Optional updates for Windows 8.1. Unfortunately, with one exception there are currently NO descriptions as to what these updates fix. Here's the list: KB3103616 WMI query doesn't work in Windows Server 2012More slipshod workmanship from Microsoft. Maybe I shouldn't be so harsh. After all, the two high school interns working part-time on this stuff are probably overworked. All those layoffs in Redmond so the company can pay CEO Satya Nadella his bonus for running Microsoft into the ground................ |

Ubuntu Software Running On Windows 10
Here are surprising news:
Ubuntu Software Running On Windows 10 Bash is on Windows 10 now. While on Windows 10 you can run a Linux subsystem and Linux applications. To obtain this, Microsoft worked with Canonical, the editor of Ubuntu Linux. This is called Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL). This looks like a technical success from a benchmark point of view. Astounding, really. |

What's happened exactly ? At the beginning, Microsoft's skills area, their real expertise is Office suite. Around Office they developed Windows O/S. The success of Windows could be explained at the time when Windows 95 came there were nothing against, and no one could oppose US global supremacy, because of the fall of Soviet Union. Nowadays things are changing quickly at the expense of US. There were subprime crash, the dollar domination is questioned everywhere etc...China, Russia, India are creating a real alternative to US, including in the strategic weapons, supercomputers, microprocessors, hardwares ' areas. Hence in US there is a hard depression. In this stormy context, U could not find much companies that can afford to wast several hundreds $/computer for Windows, and several hundreds $/computer for Office. I don't know if this news is in fact not the start of the decline of Microsoft, or if not its disappearance. But again, Linux stays a reliable alternative to any O/S. Linux will be the future. It is sure. |

But in fact, Microsoft's expertise is the OS, the Office Suite came only after and with much difficulty. I still remenber the beginnings of Excel. At this time I was teaching Lotus. At first Lotus was much better, but Microsoft had the financial resources to promote Excel and this put Lotus down. The first team who developed Excel was made of only one man. Think of that: Excel was created and developed by one man. It is IBM that gave Microsoft their chance. Had IBM decided to develop the OS for their new PC by itself, Microsoft's history would be very different. |

@Ernesto
Thx for these useful news. I remember Lotus Note suites too. But like Microsoft, Ibm, Oracle, Cisco, -except sun I love it before it was bought by this ugly Oracle- they are all parasytes. Uglies, cheaters and these huge multinationals profit to enrich at the expense of the developpers, analysts, that worked hard. But their time is over. With Libre Office, Open Office and the active collaboration of countries like China, Russia, India, european countries, american universites the time to make easy money with software, is near over. But as I said previously, we must see this subject in global way Computer science, Internet were US. However nowadays it is no longer the case. The world is understanding that Internet is their priorities In the next years, decades, we will witness a complete new architecture of Internet. The development of new O/S, and new hardwares more independant of US will be the next step. |
