I have no bio to link to for her .... so just straight into the story. In 1964 Toni Lee Shelley was an American model (aged either 19 or 22 depending on sources), based in Chicago, and she was hoping to break into movies. However she needed some publicity to get her first roles, so she cast around and no doubt inspired by the example of trail blazer Simone Silva, she headed to the local beach.

In this case it was North Beach on Lake Michigan, and when there, she paraded around for a few minutes with a photographer in tow (provided by clothes designer Rudi Gernreich). From this one event she garnered nationwide publicity, especially after pictures were sold by Gernreich to 'Life' magazine. The subsequent article “Me? In That!” by Shana Alexander included images of her being arrested.

She was later offered a small film role as 'Naiomi' the Mermaid in the Jayne Mansfield film 'The Fat Spy' which was released in 1966. She appeared in a photo with Phyllis Diller (from the movie) and Nancy Sinatra.

I would like to say this led to a film career but that was it ... just one film. After that, just a few more magazine modelling assignments such as those in the Chicago-based, Playboy-style magazine, Rogue (October 1964 and February 1965), and she disappeared, but has a small footnote in history.

So what was so special about that beach trip of the 20th of June? Well on that beach walk and swim she chose to model a topless bathing suit called a 'monokini' (aka Maillot or Molitor). Police waded into the waters, dragged her out, and after covering her in a blanket, arrested her with charges of suspicion of wearing improper bathing attire i.e. public indecency.

She however does get another 15 minutes of fame every decade or so, when the topless bikini story resurrects itself.

Trivia:

Although Life reported her age as “19,” the October 1964 Rogue article described her as “22 years old.”
The whole event was a publicity stunt by a clothing designer named Rudi Gernreich. Gernreich was a designer from California who now is "best known as the creator of the topless bathing suit", although some describe him as an iconic designer. He was however a shameless self-promoter who even put in a TV appearance on the Batman TV show in 1966.
3,000 monokinis were eventually sold at $20 each. But the suit was condemned by everyone one from the Pope to the mayor of Saint-Tropez, who used helicopters to patrol the beaches And only a few women tried to wear them in public (and they were arrested).
Two people wore the topless bikini in public. The other person was Carol Doda, an 'entertainer', who wore it in her act at the Condor Club in San Francisco.
More discreetly, Peggy Moffitt photo modelled it with breasts covered, and went on to become a famous 60's model.

Chloe Stephenson has no bio to link to, but she was a student at Gorseinon College in Swansea in Wales doing a social worker degree course, which she completed this summer. However when she was 17, she was apparently talent spotted from the Miss Wales organisation, while she was out shopping in the 'New Look' store. She entered the competition and won and was crowned Miss Swansea in 2012.

In May 2014 the then 21-year-old beauty queen punched a woman in a ladies' toilet on a night out drinking in Swansea's 'Monkey bar' in May 2014. She denied the charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, but was found guilty by a jury on the 25th May 2015. She was sentenced to 12 weeks jail, suspended for 12 months at Swansea Crown Court.

This was not her first such offence. Two years earlier, she appeared in court for smashing a pint glass in another girl's face after a row broke out in the 'Wheatsheaf' pub in Swansea in December 2011. She apparently had thought she recognised the victim, and walked up to her, but when she then realised it wasn't who she believed it to be, an argument broke out. She then hit her with her glass. The victim was left with a scratched cornea after the glass smashed into small fragments and she also had injuries to the left side of her face, under her eye and across her cheek and jaw.

As she was only 17 at the time of the offence, and it was considered to be an act that was completely out of character for her and supported by her lack of previous convictions, youth guide lines were applied. This meant she only received a 12-month community order, 100 hours unpaid work, and was made to pay £75 in compensation and £85 in costs.

I am breaking convention slightly here by reporting a redemption (well sort of). Do you recall the post on X Factor reject Chloe Mafia (aka Chloe Heald), who had turned a trick or two and monetised her talents. She had been sneered at in the press for her prostitution, and branded "Britain's Biggest Chav", but I had given her some praise for her honesty and money making abilities.

She denied being a sex worker although the videos showed otherwise, and she had to admit to drug taking when another video turned up. The fact that she was a single mother to a child she had when she was just 17 in Wakefield Yorkshire UK, seemed to just add to the fun as far as the press were concerned.

Well look who's laughing now!!

Chloe didn't let the judges rejection get her down, and ignored the press jibes, and has now become a porn again success. She rebranded herself as Chloe Khan, and after moving to a new town she started 'Web Camming' .... performing sex acts (search for the videos, I have seen three out there), on her own webcam site, and cashing in on her notoriety. On the first day alone of her new venture, she reportedly made over £3,000 for her sex show, and took her mother on a holiday to the Maldives with the money.

She then visited Hollywood, and decided that this was for her, and started attending 'networking events in the glamour industry', and found herself in demand and eventually being invited to them. She then used this knowledge to expand her webcam site, by taking other girls under her profile.

She now states that she employs 50 girls, and that her company turns over £1,000,000 pa .... she now has a six bedroom house in Harrogate Yorkshire, and another mansion in LA, bought a £600,000 house for her mum, takes holidays in Barbados (ironically at the same hotel as Simon Cowell uses), and gets invited to the Pl*boy mansion. She has had plastic surgery to make her look a bit like her heroine Kim Kardashian, but with 32HH breasts (so not too showy then ). She now considers herself to be a 'LA Princess', and obviously as sex sells, she will presumably continue to rake in the millions for the foreseeable future.

She did a pl*yboy cover and she is now one of the 'faces' of Spearmint Rhino, after performing in one of their clubs .... all this was reported in the mainstream UK press, in a series of stories starting in March. Of course there is a small bit of doubt as to whether all these claims are entirely true, as at least one newspaper hinted that it may be that some exaggeration has crept in to the tale. However if even just half of it is true, then this is some transformation in fortune.

So once again we say "Good Luck to you Chloe Khan ". You have proved once again, if we needed proof, that the drive to get fame is irrepressible in these girls

Kendra McKenzie Gill is a Utah beauty pageant winner. She was crowned 'Miss Riverton' 2013, beating nine other beauty contestants in the Salt Lake City suburb, and took home a $2,000 scholarship. She was scheduled to compete in the Miss Utah pageant that year but .....

In August 2013 she was arrested with three accomplices for what one described as 'a prank'. However this prank led to them all facing the same set of four felony charges of Felony bomb possession and a possible 1-15 years in prison.

They were apparently driving around neighbourhoods, and allegedly throwing plastic bottles of caustic chemicals and shrapnel at people they knew. The concoction was potentially explosive and explosions were reported to the police. All four acknowledged they were tossing the bombs and having bought the bomb-making supplies at Walmart. These devices were powered by a toilet bowl cleaner reacting with aluminium foil when hitting the sidewalks, front yards or in streets and were meant "to scare some of their other friends" The Unified Fire Authority investigator Steve Bowen reported the dangerous nature of bombs in a court affidavit and the Unified Fire Authority Captain told KUTV-TV that "This goes well beyond a teenage prank."

Fortunately nobody was injured

However its safe to say that a budding career was stopped on the first rung of the ladder as she renounced her pageant title after the arrest. She later took a plea deal in order to avoid jail. The Felony charges were dropped as part of the plea agreement and other charges will be dismissed after they each complete 200 hours of community service. In addition, each was fined $500.

Helga Anders (b. Helga Scherz) was born in Innsbruck in 1948, but moved to Ruhpolding and Bielefeld after her parents split up. She made her stage debut at the age of eight, when she played at the Bielefeld City Theatre, Heinerle in the operetta 'The Jolly Farmer'. She had another role aged fourteen in 'Max, the pickpocket'.

But is best known outside of the German speaking world for her part in the Yugoslav television series The White Horses which ran between 1966 and 1967. She married the actor Roger Fritz (Cross of Iron), when 6 months pregnant, and with whom she had just the one child who was brought up by her mother, and they divorced in 1974. She died of heart failure aged 38 in March 1986 with 67 TV and Film credits.

She had a fatal attraction to both alcohol and drugs ... marijuana, LSD and a mix of prescription pills were her drugs of downfall. She stated that as well as the divorce of her father her unhappy marriage to the 'authoritarian and inconsiderate' Roger Frits caused her to drink a bottle of sekt (German sparkling wine), well before midday just to quell her anxiety and stage fright. She also deliberately aborted a second child in 1970. However after their divorce any brakes disappeared and she started a spiral of abuse which included several suicide attempts (wrist cutting, electrocution, alcohol and sleeping pills, tranquillisers ~ enough to flatten 3 people), but in the end it was the cumulative effects of the drugs and alcohol which killed her when she had a fatal heart attack.

She was also unhappy with her career path ... "I am a woman over thirty, but my producers still want an 18 year-old Brigitte-Bardot, blended with pout. This can not end well." and so it proved when towards the end of her life she was transferred to a clinic in Bezirkrankenhaus near Munich for addictions and mental health issues (schizophrenia).

Michelle Manhart aka Michelle Denis Cross-Manhart née Hubbard was born in Oakland, California, USA. After her parents divorced, she grew up living in Chico and Susanville, California. She graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in Chico in 1994 and went to Lackland Air Force Base for basic training after graduation.

She was in the USAF from 1994 until after marriage she transferred to the Iowa Air National Guard but she was recalled to active duty in 2001 and spent time deployed to Kuwait in 2002. She also enrolled at the University of Northern Iowa and graduated in 2004 with a degree in political science.

After she finally left the US air force, she modelled and then in 2010, she opened a tanning salon in Valdosta, Georgia. She was a part-time columnist for Canadian news site Orato.

She was photographed for the February 2007 issue of Pl*yboy , partially clothed and completely nude and she stated that she had dreamed of being on Playboy since the age of 12. Unfortunately according to the USAF via the Lackland AFB spokesman, such actions did not meet the high standards expected of airmen nor the Air Force's core values.

The edition came out in January 2007, and the Air Force immediately relieved her of her duties pending an investigation. The Air Force then took administrative action against her and she received a letter of reprimand for violating the uniform regulation, and discrediting the armed forces. The Air Force also administratively demoted her from staff sergeant to senior airman. In February 2007, she was voluntarily discharged from the Air Force citing "reasons of personal convenience."

This wasn't her last news headline. In April 2015, she was detained by Valdosta State University police after 'stealing' a flag from black protesters who were stepping on it during a protest on university grounds. She refused to return the flag to the protesters or give it to police, and was detained. She claimed her actions were done to defend the flag from further desecration and was planning on disposing of it in the proper manner. The university police and protesters declined to press criminal charges against her; however, she was given a criminal trespass warning which effectively bans her from all university activities, including graduation and football games.

Speaking afterwards to the press she said 'I did not want anything like this, but I got a call from a student who told me that the flag was on the ground, and they were walking on it. I was just going over there to pick up the flag off the ground. I don’t know what their cause is, but I went to pick it up because it doesn’t deserve to be on the ground.'

She continued: 'If your cause is racism then find some white people and walk on them. But to walk on the flag is walking on our symbol of freedom. You have the freedom to do what you are doing because of it. I’m not fighting against them. I’m fighting against the way they are going about it.'

.... it was not known what the demonstrators were rallying against. They did not answer reporters' questions about what their cause was.

Gloria Grahame (b. Gloria Grahame Hallward) was born in Los Angeles, California, USA. She had an acting background as her mother, Jeanne McDougall, was a British stage actress and acting teacher. The acting bug caught quickly, and Grahame dropped out of Hollywood High School to become an actress.

She pursued a stage career and was only signed to a movie contract with MGM Studios (under her professional name), after mogul Louis B. Mayer saw her performing on Broadway for several years. Her film debut in 'Blonde Fever' in 1944, was followed by a prominent role in the James Stewart movie, 'It's a Wonderful Life' in 1946. Her contract was sold to RKO in 1947 which opened up the film noir roles for which she is possibly best remembered now. Perhaps her finest performance was when she starred with Humphrey Bogart in the 1950 film 'In a Lonely Place'.

She won the 1952 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in MGM's 'The Bad and the Beautiful'. But her film career began to wane after her performance in the 1955 musical film 'Oklahoma!' in which critics said she was miscast. A slow return to the theatre ensued, and she returned to films only occasionally to play supporting roles, mostly in minor releases. TV also opened another revenue with appearances on such shows as 'The Outer Limits', 'The Fugitive', and 'Burke's Law', which maintained her public profile and she had well over 60 film and TV credits in her career.

Grahame continued working in stage productions in the United States and the United Kingdom, even living for some time in Liverpool, and survived cancer occurrences. However while working in London in September 1981, she underwent treatment to remove excess fluid from her abdomen. During the procedure, the doctor accidentally punctured her bowel. She developed peritonitis and was hospitalised. She was taken back to the United States, where she was admitted to St. Vincent's Hospital in New York City. She died there a few hours later at the age of 57. She is interred in Oakwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Chatsworth, California. She was married four times and had four children.

She was rumoured to have been difficult on the set of Oklahoma!, upstaging some of the cast and alienating her co-stars, this reputation furthered her fall from the movies.

She developed an unhealthy obsession with her looks, particularly her upper lip. She had started with plastic surgery to reduce the ridges in her upper lip as early as 1946. She had also taken to stuffing cotton or wads of tissues between her lip and teeth, to give the appearance of fullness which she felt gave her a sexier look ... this may also have disguised the creeping immobility of her lip. Several co-stars discovered this after filming kissing scenes with Grahame as the tissue or cotton would often transfer to their mouth. Eventually this obsession led her to have more cosmetic procedures that eventually rendered her upper lip largely immobile because of nerve damage. This not only changed her looks but subtly altered her voice.

Allegedly she had an affair with co-star Jack Palance while filming 'Sudden Fear' in 1950.

The day after her divorce from her first husband finalized, Grahame married director Nicholas Ray. Her fourth and final marriage was to actor Anthony "Tony" Ray, the son of her second husband Nicholas Ray and his first wife Jean Evans and her former stepson. Their relationship reportedly began when Tony Ray was 13 years old and Grahame was still married to his father and Nicholas Ray reportedly caught in bed with his then 17 year old son after which he divorced her. She eventually married Anthony "Tony" Ray in Tijuana, Mexico in May 1960.

The couple would go on to have two children but kept their marriage secret until 1962. The tabloids were over it like a rash and the ensuing scandal damaged Grahame's reputation and affected her career. The stress of the scandal, her waning career and her custody battle with Howard took its toll on Grahame and she had a nervous breakdown. She later underwent electroshock therapy in 1964. Strangely despite the surrounding scandal, and 15 year age difference, her marriage to Anthony Ray was her longest lasting union. They would later divorce in May 1974.

After learning of the marriage to Anthony Ray, Grahame's third husband Cy Howard attempted to gain sole custody of the couple's daughter Marianna. Howard claimed Grahame was an unfit mother and the two fought over custody of Marianna for years.

Her Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress was for a mere 9 minutes on screen, a record at the time for the shortest performance on screen to win an acting Oscar, which she held for 27 years before Beatrice Straight broke it in 1977.
Tone-deaf, she sang without dubbing in only one film, Oklahoma! (1955), where her songs were edited together from recordings made almost literally note by note ... pre digital.
In 1950 she causes publicity turmoil when she declares she dislikes night gowns and sleeps in the nude.

Anett Pikula was born in Mexico, but is a naturalised US citizen, living in a $330,000 apartment on East Coronado Road in Phoenix, Arizona. She is aged 39. In a world of increasingly niche celebrities e.g. Kim Karshadian and Paris Hilton, who are both famous for 'leaked' sex-tapes and, well, being 'famous', the role of 'Bikini Model' must be right down there for talentless celebrity. However there are specialist model 'celebrities occupying even that tiny niche, and no doubt all are desperately longing to be famous for something else, which might explain the recent escapades of Ms Pikulka.

In a career based on looks, approaching 40 must pretty well indicate that it is either time for a sugar daddy husband, or for a girl to set up a pension plan. She lists her current occupation as being 'a model', and owner of the 'Perfect Pixel Studios Photography' of Scottsdale Arizona.

She is apparently divorced and may or may not be the mother of three children (reports are unsure on this).

Papers show that she filed for bankruptcy in 2010, when she was said to be in over $100,000 dollars' worth of debt; the Chapter 13 protection filing was dismissed in 2011.

In July 2015 she drove up to the Mexico/US border crossing at Lukeville, Arizona in her 2006 gold Mercedes with a passenger. However she was 'overly talkative' and 'flirting' prompting suspicion from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officers, who deployed a K-9 drug dog, who duly sniffed out drugs in hidden compartments in the car, located behind both of the Mercedes's front quarter panels. The Officers opened them, and found $134,000 worth of cocaine in the compartments, and arrested Ms Pikula, who is now accused of possessing 13lbs of cocaine with intent to distribute.

Ayelet Ben-Shahar is an Israeli actress who was born in Tel Aviv. Her parents are Chilean and Middle Eastern ... after her parents divorce, she was raised by her mother. At the age of 20, she left Israel and relocated herself to Los Angeles, USA, to become an actress. This ploy worked and she landed her first American TV role in the show '90210' (2010).

More TV work followed and she landed a recurring role on TV series 'Weeds' (2010) and she has worked intermittently since ..... however with only 10 credits, it appears money has been tight.

In January 2014, she was reportedly caught stealing some $400 worth of groceries at a Gelson's Market in Studio City, LA. She was allegedly placed under citizens arrest in the store and the police called to arrest her. Kimberly "Kim" Richards born in Mineola, New York and her parents separated in 1972 and her mother later remarried. While she was just months old she appeared in a TV commercial for either a diaper or a carpet (sources vary). In 1964 Toni Lee Shelley was an American model (aged either 19 or 22 depending on sources), based in Chicago, and she was hoping to break into movies. However she needed some publicity to get her first roles, so she cast around and no doubt inspired by the example of trail blazer Simone Silva, she headed to the local beach. In this case it was North Beach on Lake Michigan, and when there, she paraded around for a few minutes with a photographer in tow (provided by clothes designer Rudi Gernreich). From this one event she garnered nationwide publicity, especially after pictures were sold by Gernreich to 'Life' magazine. The subsequent article “Me? In That!” by Shana Alexander included images of her being arrested. She was later offered a small film role as 'Naiomi' the Mermaid in the Jayne Mansfield film 'The Fat Spy' which was released in 1966. She appeared in a photo with Phyllis Diller (from the movie) and Nancy Sinatra. I would like to say this led to a film career but that was it ... just one film. After that, just a few more magazine modelling assignments such as those in the Chicago-based, Playboy-style magazine, Rogue (October 1964 and February 1965), and she disappeared, but has a small footnote in history. Oops: So what was so special about that beach trip of the 20th of June? Well on that beach walk and swim she chose to model a topless bathing suit called a 'monokini' (aka Maillot or Molitor). Police waded into the waters, dragged her out, and after covering her in a blanket, arrested her with charges of suspicion of wearing improper bathing attire i.e. public indecency. She however does get another 15 minutes of fame every decade or so, when the topless bikini story resurrects itself. Trivia: Although Life reported her age as “19,” the October 1964 Rogue article described her as “22 years old.” The whole event was a publicity stunt by a clothing designer named Rudi Gernreich. Gernreich was a designer from California who now is "best known as the creator of the topless bathing suit", although some describe him as an iconic designer. He was however a shameless self-promoter who even put in a TV appearance on the Batman TV show in 1966. 3,000 monokinis were eventually sold at $20 each. But the suit was condemned by everyone one from the Pope to the mayor of Saint-Tropez, who used helicopters to patrol the beaches And only a few women tried to wear them in public (and they were arrested). Two people wore the topless bikini in public. The other person was Carol Doda, an 'entertainer', who wore it in her act at the Condor Club in San Francisco. More discreetly, Peggy Moffitt photo modelled it with breasts covered, and went on to become a famous 60's model. However when she was 17, she was apparently talent spotted from the Miss Wales organisation, while she was out shopping in the 'New Look' store. She entered the competition and won and was crowned Miss Swansea in 2012. Oops: In May 2014 the then 21-year-old beauty queen punched a woman in a ladies' toilet on a night out drinking in Swansea's 'Monkey bar' in May 2014. She denied the charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, but was found guilty by a jury on the 25th May 2015. She was sentenced to 12 weeks jail, suspended for 12 months at Swansea Crown Court. This was not her first such offence. Two years earlier, she appeared in court for smashing a pint glass in another girl's face after a row broke out in the 'Wheatsheaf' pub in Swansea in December 2011. She apparently had thought she recognised the victim, and walked up to her, but when she then realised it wasn't who she believed it to be, an argument broke out. She then hit her with her glass. The victim was left with a scratched cornea after the glass smashed into small fragments and she also had injuries to the left side of her face, under her eye and across her cheek and jaw. As she was only 17 at the time of the offence, and it was considered to be an act that was completely out of character for her and supported by her lack of previous convictions, youth guide lines were applied. She was crowned 'Miss Riverton' 2013, beating nine other beauty contestants in the Salt Lake City suburb, and took home a $2,000 scholarship. She was scheduled to compete in the Miss Utah pageant that year but ..... Oops: In August 2013 she was arrested with three accomplices for what one described as 'a prank'. However this prank led to them all facing the same set of four felony charges of Felony bomb possession and a possible 1-15 years in prison. They were apparently driving around neighbourhoods, and allegedly throwing plastic bottles of caustic chemicals and shrapnel at people they knew. The concoction was potentially explosive and explosions were reported to the police. All four acknowledged they were tossing the bombs and having bought the bomb-making supplies at Walmart. These devices were powered by a toilet bowl cleaner reacting with aluminium foil when hitting the sidewalks, front yards or in streets and were meant "to scare some of their other friends" The Unified Fire Authority investigator Steve Bowen reported the dangerous nature of bombs in a court affidavit and the Unified Fire Authority Captain told KUTV-TV that "This goes well beyond a teenage prank." Fortunately nobody was injured However its safe to say that a budding career was stopped on the first rung of the ladder as she renounced her pageant title after the arrest. She later took a plea deal in order to avoid jail. The Felony charges were dropped as part of the plea agreement and other charges will be dismissed after they each complete 200 hours of community service. In addition, each was fined $500. Helga Scherz) was born in Innsbruck in 1948, but moved to Ruhpolding and Bielefeld after her parents split up. She made her stage debut at the age of eight, when she played at the Bielefeld City Theatre, Heinerle in the operetta 'The Jolly Farmer'. She had another role aged fourteen in 'Max, the pickpocket'. But is best known outside of the German speaking world for her part in the Yugoslav television series The White Horses which ran between 1966 and 1967. She married the actor Roger Fritz (Cross of Iron), when 6 months pregnant, and with whom she had just the one child who was brought up by her mother, and they divorced in 1974. She died of heart failure aged 38 in March 1986 with 67 TV and Film credits. Oops: She had a fatal attraction to both alcohol and drugs ... marijuana, LSD and a mix of prescription pills were her drugs of downfall. She stated that as well as the divorce of her father her unhappy marriage to the 'authoritarian and inconsiderate' Roger Frits caused her to drink a bottle of sekt (German sparkling wine), well before midday just to quell her anxiety and stage fright. She also deliberately aborted a second child in 1970. However after their divorce any brakes disappeared and she started a spiral of abuse which included several suicide attempts (wrist cutting, electrocution, alcohol and sleeping pills, tranquillisers ~ enough to flatten 3 people), but in the end it was the cumulative effects of the drugs and alcohol which killed her when she had a fatal heart attack. She was also unhappy with her career path ... "I am a woman over thirty, but my producers still want an 18 year-old Brigitte-Bardot, blended with pout. This can not end well." and so it proved when towards the end of her life she was transferred to a clinic in Bezirkrankenhaus near Munich for addictions and mental health issues (schizophrenia). She was in the USAF from 1994 until after marriage she transferred to the Iowa Air National Guard but she was recalled to active duty in 2001 and spent time deployed to Kuwait in 2002. She also enrolled at the University of Northern Iowa and graduated in 2004 with a degree in political science. After she finally left the US air force, she modelled and then in 2010, she opened a tanning salon in Valdosta, Georgia. She was a part-time columnist for Canadian news site Orato. Gloria Grahame Hallward) was born in Los Angeles, California, USA. She had an acting background as her mother, Jeanne McDougall, was a British stage actress and acting teacher. The acting bug caught quickly, and Grahame dropped out of Hollywood High School to become an actress. She pursued a stage career and was only signed to a movie contract with MGM Studios (under her professional name), after mogul Louis B. Mayer saw her performing on Broadway for several years. Her film debut in 'Blonde Fever' in 1944, was followed by a prominent role in the James Stewart movie, 'It's a Wonderful Life' in 1946. Her contract was sold to RKO in 1947 which opened up the film noir roles for which she is possibly best remembered now. Perhaps her finest performance was when she starred with Humphrey Bogart in the 1950 film 'In a Lonely Place'. She won the 1952 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in MGM's 'The Bad and the Beautiful'. But her film career began to wane after her performance in the 1955 musical film 'Oklahoma!' in which critics said she was miscast. A slow return to the theatre ensued, and she returned to films only occasionally to play supporting roles, mostly in minor releases. TV also opened another revenue with appearances on such shows as 'The Outer Limits', 'The Fugitive', and 'Burke's Law', which maintained her public profile and she had well over 60 film and TV credits in her career. Grahame continued working in stage productions in the United States and the United Kingdom, even living for some time in Liverpool, and survived cancer occurrences. However while working in London in September 1981, she underwent treatment to remove excess fluid from her abdomen. During the procedure, the doctor accidentally punctured her bowel. She developed peritonitis and was hospitalised. She was taken back to the United States, where she was admitted to St. Vincent's Hospital in New York City. Eventually this obsession led her to have more cosmetic procedures that eventually rendered her upper lip largely immobile because of nerve damage. This not only changed her looks but subtly altered her voice. Allegedly she had an affair with co-star Jack Palance while filming 'Sudden Fear' in 1950. The day after her divorce from her first husband finalized, Grahame married director Nicholas Ray. Her fourth and final marriage was to actor Anthony "Tony" Ray, the son of her second husband Nicholas Ray and his first wife Jean Evans and her former stepson. Their relationship reportedly began when Tony Ray was 13 years old and Grahame was still married to his father and Nicholas Ray reportedly caught in bed with his then 17 year old son after which he divorced her. She eventually married Anthony "Tony" Ray in Tijuana, Mexico in May 1960. The couple would go on to have two children but kept their marriage secret until 1962. The tabloids were over it like a rash and the ensuing scandal damaged Grahame's reputation and affected her career. After learning of the marriage to Anthony Ray, Grahame's third husband Cy Howard attempted to gain sole custody of the couple's daughter Marianna. Howard claimed Grahame was an unfit mother and the two fought over custody of Marianna for years. She is aged 39. In a world of increasingly niche celebrities e.g. Kim Karshadian and Paris Hilton, who are both famous for 'leaked' sex-tapes and, well, being 'famous', the role of 'Bikini Model' must be right down there for talentless celebrity. However there are specialist model 'celebrities occupying even that tiny niche, and no doubt all are desperately longing to be famous for something else, which might explain the recent escapades of Ms Pikulka. In a career based on looks, approaching 40 must pretty well indicate that it is either time for a sugar daddy husband, or for a girl to set up a pension plan. The Officers opened them, and found $134,000 worth of cocaine in the compartments, and arrested Ms Pikula, who is now accused of possessing 13lbs of cocaine with intent to distribute. Officers subsequently turned her over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations. They also seized the drugs and the Mercedes and the passenger traveling with Ms Pikula, was released with no charge. Trivia: Her height is 5'9". Her Birthday is the 9th of March. Her parents are Chilean and Middle Eastern ... after her parents divorce, she was raised by her mother. At the age of 20, she left Israel and relocated herself to Los Angeles, USA, to become an actress. This ploy worked and she landed her first American TV role in the show '90210' (2010). More TV work followed and she landed a recurring role on TV series 'Weeds' (2010) and she has worked intermittently since ..... however with only 10 credits, it appears money has been tight. Oops: In January 2014, she was reportedly caught stealing some $400 worth of groceries at a Gelson's Market in Studio City, LA. She was allegedly placed under citizens arrest in the store and the police called to arrest her. As usual, I can find no reports on what happened but as she got a role this year, I assume it was just a fine.
