I'm watching Bette Davis in Kid Galahad and in the scene where she is up on stage singing it's pretty clear you can see through the top of her dress and that she is not wearing a bra in several other scenes too. I've looked but can't find any screenshots from this scene. If I knew how to do it I would. Anybody else ever notice this?

I had not seen this movie until you posted, and I still haven't watched it all. But thumbing through this video online, I can see what you mean. She does seem braless in several scenes, including the singing part. If you watched it on a big screen TV in HD, you probably saw a lot more than I did. This cap I made is from a small version, not full screen, so there is not much detail.

I've failed to master the X-Ray technique, but here's my attempt.

First pic is untouched second is the X-Ray.

Thanks Sirch, that's pretty good considering the limitations you were working with. It does show more shape than the original. The dark cloth and the loose folds keep it from being too revealing I suppose.

On a related note, it seems that loose fitting blouses (and going braless) may have been somewhat of a fashion trend of the era, at least for certain actresses. I'm reminded of Jean Harlow for example.
