I had to dig up a French-Italian-German spy film entitled The Blonde from Peking (1967) to flesh out a post for another performer, and Pascale Roberts showed up as the secretary of the C.I.A. chief, played by Edward G. Robinson. Frame grabs followed.


The lady was thirty-seven to thirty-four-years-old. I'm giving a range, because a lot of sites still have her birth year at 1933, although the consensus seems to be 1930.

The Soviet villains ambush her, but she goes into wildcat mode, impressively putting up quite the fight.



Luckily, the shirt comes off in the scuffle. She is then threatened in order to obtain needed information. The bra straps are cigarette-burned off, until she relents.

Member "Span4f" provided a birth year of 1933 when he began this thread a decade ago (see page top), but that information appears to have been updated to Oct. 21, 1930. Madame Roberts began her screen career in 1953, and was heavily in demand in the French film and television industry, judging by her extensive list of titles. It doesn't look like she crossed over much to international fare, so she has been largely unknown for those outside of France.

identified as Lisa Bourdin and Veronique Zuber.

A rare exception was early in her career, while she spent a year in London, snagging the title role of the "Tina" episode of Captain Gallant of the Foreign Legion in 1955. (The TV series was American, and the unusual thing here was that at time, most U.S. television productions did not venture outside of Hollywood or New York; this one was also shot on location in exotic Morocco. The hero was played by Mr. Flash Gordon/Tarzan, Buster Crabbe. Given how French colonialism was under fire at the time, some may have found it difficult to root for the heroes. Then again, most Americans wouldn't have given a hoot.)



Pascale kept at the game until 2016, and was kept busiest at career's tail end (2008-2016) while appearing in over five hundred episodes of Plus belle la vie ("More Beautiful Life"), a long-running soap opera featuring residents of a town with more than its share of murders; her character was an "exuberant retiree, a former music hall artist." Health problems prevented her from continuing. As this obituary (Pascale Roberts died in 2019, near ninety) further informs, the actress was married three times.

In addition, Pascale's father was Anglo-Italian, and her mother was Creole (one community of these mixed peoples, usually French/Spanish colonialists on one hand and Black/indigenous Americans on the other, is famously in the United States' Louisiana, formerly colonized by French Canadians. In history's worst real estate deal, Napoleon sold all of the Louisiana territory for four cents an acre, allowing for the USA to double in size). How interesting that a Creole would go back to the motherland of the Creole's white side, if that's what happened, and also interesting is that aside from perhaps a bit of mom, Pascale was evidently not very ethnically French.



What about the times Pascale showed the womanly goods? Problem here is that she turned around thirty in 1960, about a decade before cinema loosened its morality grip for good. (She was still a babe in her Blonde in Peking appearance at the age of 37, or 34, but 1967 was still a coy year for nudity; by the time the 1970s rolled around, she began to slip into character roles.) On the other hand, she showed off her sex appeal for plenty of photos — most of what is below is probably from the 1960s — before largely being considered over-the-hill in the film world.

(Pascale's mother is described as "the director of aesthetics at Elisabeth Arden" at this bio page, and she was not supportive of the daughter's decision to go into acting. We also learn that Pascale became a Buddhist, and that she specialized in femme fatales roles, "using her advantageous physique," in films such as "Les Moutons de Panurge (1960), In the Mouth of the Wolf (1961) or We Will Go to Deauville (1962)." The photo they put up, reproduced below, certainly displays a "watch out 'cause I'm bad" expression.)



This next photo below must be taken with a grain of salt (where it seems the buttocks went out for fresh air), since her face is unseen; assuming its I.D. of Pascale is correct, this may have taken place in her fifties or sixties, judging by the "aged" hand.



She let loose a bit in the following that has been labeled as Pascale Roberts in À la vie, à la mort! ("To Life, to Death"), a film that relates the stories of some from a Marseille neighborhood who meet every night at the cabaret; she was sixty-five, perhaps sixty-two, here.




Yet the biggest "nudity" coup (far as the silver screen; the first shot below hints at her willingness to shed clothes for magazines; let's not forget photos from the web are not always reliable, and too often misidentified; I'm not sure the first photo's woman is Pascale) I've found comes from a VEF sister site (has the same style cartoon at page top, so I'm guessing it's part of the family), "NudeCelebForum," the Pascale page for which begins with a variation of this thread's first post by Span4f (before they banned him! How dare they). The second post was by one of their moderators at the time, "111111111," who poked around at VEF as well, before he beat it in 2015. (Interestingly, none of his VEF posts have survived.)



In 2014, "111111111" put up a composite of our lady from a 1975 film identified as "La Rage au Poing," or Raging Fists; the sole IMDb comment to date at the film's page describes this one as "An unknown and totally lost and forgotten film from the mid seventies which was not a crime movie but a crime drama instead, social story emphasizing of the young punks." This other page claims the punks, including a female, have their leader taken to a hospital after yet another disturbance they apparently caused, and the revenge-minded gang members seek out the man responsible for the leader's arrest. They invade the home, beat the man, and rape the wife. (The police then surround the house, leading to the film's not very peaceful conclusion.)



Two in the cast have the character names of "The Father" and "The Mother," and while only a viewing would confirm whether they are the man and wife held under siege, I'd say that would be the likeliest guess (also taking into account the image from above). As Pascale Roberts was around forty-five at the time, she would have been suited for this older role. The plot makes it conceivable for her to have appeared nude. Regardless of whether this theory is correct, at least we have one instance of the lady having ditched her clothing, for which she is to be commended.
