Romney’s promise to put porn filters on every computer

MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell on Thursday called out presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney over his promise to put a “filter to block pornography” on every new computer in the U.S.
“Mitt Romney talks about freedom a lot these days,” but there is “one economic freedom that he wants to take away,” according to O’Donnell. “That’s right. Mitt Romney has flip flopped on everything including freedom.”

Even if a U.S. President had the power to put porn filters on all U.S. computers (which he doesn't) how would that affect people in the rest of the world?

Don't get excited. All presidential candidates have made some sort of promise to return the populous values to something more "Victorian" and none of them have been able to deliver. The closest one was Ronald Reagan's Attorney General, Ed Meese. He used his clout to get convenience stores to remove Playboy (and the likes) from their shelves. And, it worked... for a while, until Playboy sued in Federal Court and won a 1st Amendment decision.
As for me, I'm still waiting on Obama's solemn promise to close the terrorist detention center at GITMO. Something that has noticeably been absent from the posturing thus far.

I challenge ANYONE to find any quote from Obama where he even mentions porn. I will agree with the Gitmo comment. As long as people keep voting in Repugnican congress members we will get nothing but obstruction on things like Gitmo
