While I don't doubt they have smarts up top (in more ways than one ), they're just not the kind of thing they'd be asked about following a shoot that probably happened months ago anyway. And it's funny how their opinions always fit in with the paper's, isn't it...
I am not sure whether you refer to the paper or the website-if it is the website(because I've not bought the Sun for years) then I agree with the ludicrous quotes like "Zoe is happy that Saddam Hussein has been killed, she recalls how the country celebrated with a man slapping his statue with his shoe when it was pulled down" Oh yeah right, I doubt Zoe was watching the news, let alone knew who Saddam Hussein was-so those quotes are just another way of treating readers like fools, which was once picked up on by Jasper Carrot!

Linda Lusardi has always been my favourite. Whilst there has always been some terrific Page 3 Girls - some of the best around at the moment are Melissa Debling, Staci Noblett and Jodie Gasson (Holly in the Star) - Linda will always be number one for me

Totally agree with you.I'd go further and say I actually like the tradition of the puns while I would love to see the back of 'news in briefs'. We should start a thread of our favourite P3 puns. One of my favourites ever was an outdoor evening picture of Sian Adey Jones, or was it Beoley Ashley? with the caption, "Just a Sarong at Twilight"

My all time favourites are Nina Carter and Maria Whittaker. Not only did they have wonderful bodies but beautiful eyes too.

I hate. No loath tabloid newspapers. And page 3 is an insult. Not the pics but the stupid crap they write next to it.

The biggest difference as to why most of us go glassy-eyed when remembering Linda, Samantha, Maria, etc is clear-television exposure. How many of the top page 3 girls of today have appeared on panel shows, television programmes, or even drama series and films? Not many, because the Internet makes them stars. In the 80's if a page 3 girl made it big they wouldn't always get a lot of exposure but if you were exceptional like Linda Lusardi, Samantha Fox and Maria Whittaker were you were offered roles in films and on television. Samantha was the first one to be accepted by the mainstream appearing in shows and also presenting the 6 O'Clock Show-why was this? Because of her chirpy cockney attitude to things and perhaps seen as a bit dim but she was no fool. Linda Lusardi, appeared on panel shows and on television. Maria, ex disco dancer also appeared a few times and in two films Bullshot and Whoops Apocolypse, but only cameos(with Karen Kelly, Suzanne Mizzi and Christine Peake). Who else? Kathy Lloyd-Bob's Full House hostess and Miller Lite Beer Girl advert, whilst Kim Mills, Janine Andrews, Gillian De Terville, Toni White etc became Bond girls.

What have the new girls been in? Offhand I can only think of Michelle Marsh and Lucy Pinder in cameo roles and a couple of others but the newer ones, will they be remembered as fondly in years to come as we do the original page 3 girls? Somehow I don't think so. I may of course be wrong but with so many distractions, some of the names may fade into obscurity. I hope for the next generation they don't. WE didn't have PS3's, the Internet, lads mags and other forms of glamour media-so the newspaper and television and magazines liike M*yf*ir, P-House and Parade were the only exposure these girls would get if they were lucky-films if really lucky.

Incidentally I also thought the captions in the papers were cringe-worthy but on the website, the so-called thoughts of today's page 3 girls are worse-you know damn well the quotes/people they use they've probably never heard of before. I wish websites and newspapers wouldn't treat their readers as idiots.

Well put GM. I'd be more ashamed buying nuts than a real porn mag. The content is so base. Every man must like soccer and drink beer No Mr nuts/Zoo we don't all do that.
